“A HOLIDAY IS WHAT YOU MAKE IT !!!”

We stayed at the admiral hotel in argassi for one week In September . Obviously a lot quieter than in the peak summer months but everything was still in motion ie excursions etc. receptionist lady and theo the manager were always very helpful and did all they could for us ie change our rooms and give advice on the local area. Our rooms were cleaned daily and clean towels etc were also given daily. The pool in the admiral was right on the main road so didn't really use it that much so spent the days on the beach. Beach narrow but sandy and the water was warm and crystal clear. Entertainment ok not fantastic, was repetitive in the sense that every night there was a kids disco that played the same tunes every evening then you have a different part each evening then a disco that was done in the hotel foyer??? Would have been better in the actual disco hall I felt. Breakfast was nice. evening meals were excellent and had no complaints with the food. the drinks consisted of cheap fizzy drinks that were warm but then i suppose you could add ice if you wanted too , house red and white wine which had rather a twang to it in my opinion, no cocktails other than make your own, and the beer was lowenbrau beer which in my opinion would of been better if it was mythos or a choice of either. Went to the shop across the road for cans of mythos. Lots of polish/Russians who were nice enough but felt a bit of a loner being British. Overall hotel was nice and food was excellent. Drinks were ok but could have been of a better standar, but fulfilled out needs. Poolside snacks were nice, salads toasties, burgers and chips. The m

It is a very nice hotel: with lovely and helpful staff, clean ( room was tidy up every day), really good food ( breakfast were repeatable, but there was everything what you could have for breakfast, so I cannot understand why people complained about below...), quite good entertainment in the evening. We had no toaster or kettle in the room, although there was no issue for us as the bar in walking distance:), but there was a fridge. When booking it is worth to ask for a sea view. Quite nice swimming pool. Really good thing that visitors could use facilities of Captain ( beautiful view from restaurant and swimming pool area to sea) and Cammodore.

Argassi itself is nicer than other towns, although beach is not excellent. There are free buses to Banana Beach and walking distance to Zakhyntos. Taxi from airport cost 16 euro( no buses from airport)

We rent a car, so we visit other parts. Definitely worth to go Keri, Laganas ( Camao Island),
Porto Limnionas, Aristeon Olive Press & Museum, Agios Nikolas ( take a boat trip with Thediosis-15 euro to Blue Caves and Shipwreck). Moreover you can see another life on Zante, but be prepare that roads are narrow.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view when booking

After reading all the reviews I wasn't looking forward to the holiday but on arrival it was clear that these people must have nothing better to do than complain about everything. The hotel was fantastic, the staff were lovely, it was always clean and tidy. The food was what you expect from a 3* all inclusive. It wasnt amazing but you get what you pay for. I never went hungry. All the people complaining about the Eastern Europeans need to get over themselves, everyone deserves a holiday, people kept to themselves and they were welcoming when joining in with activities such as volleyball and kareoke.

Overall the hotel was very clean, the staff were excellent (if you are nice to them they are nice to you), the pool was small but never over crowded and there are three hotels in the chain whose facilities you can use all within walking distance. The food was good and the entertainment was also great, especially greek night. I have no complaints whatsoever.

The only issue is the beach, if you want a good beach the one down the road isnt great but there are buses running to other beaches.

Definitely a good choice for a budget holiday!

having had 2 weeks all- inc at the admiral hotel, we have mixed feelings about it all, The hotel itself was clean, thanks to the hardworking maids who worked all hours, our maid was lovely, rooms cleaned well everyday. Had no kettle and toaster in our room, and the beds were backbreaking. (cant have it all) The food was ok, the breakfast was catered predominantly for eastern European liking and very repetitive, how ever the lunch menu was varied and always found something we liked, evening meal was also repetitive and could have been more choice.
Most of the staff were great, very helpful and full of banter, especially the night porter YANI!!!,
YANI you are a legend.
Argassi itself is a lovely town, on a beautiful island, we hired a car to explore zante, and save money on the trips available, we came and went at our own leisure, CRACKING!!!.
beer academy is a top bar for watching sports and having a good old general time, as were other bars on Argassi strip.
we would definitely return to zante one day, but at a different hotel, hardly any English there, and some very rude eastern Europeans, the few English that were there we are sound friendly folk, had a ball, we made our own entertainment as the hotels was minimal, yet enjoyable.

Room Tip: TRANSFER TIP do not pay for transfers for the airport to Argassi as we paid £120 return, but late...

After reading all the reviews on here, i was worried i had booked a bad hotel..Having 2 small boys, aged 6 and 9, i was dreading it!! But i was really happy with it all, the staff were amazing and really nice, The hotel is very clean and all the staff worked really hard around the clock..The food was beautiful, yes it can be repetitive, but i never ate the same thing in all the 2 weeks i was there, there is lots of different choices..The location was perfect. We hired a car and went to different parts of Zante, and comparing Argassi, i think Argassi is the better location. You have everything you need all on your doorstep.
(The maids cleaned the rooms every day and always left plenty of lovely fresh soft towels...
There is a kettle in the room so you can take your own tea and coffee, so you can have a brew whenever you want, saves going up and down to the bar)
My boys had a fantastic time, and we met some lovely friends.
Our room was amazing too, we were in room 318 and the view was lovely,
We never had a problem with cold water, we had hot showers every night, (but who wants a hot shower when abroad in that heat??) you just cant please everyone...
Yes there are alot of polish and german etc, but they deserve an holiday too...There were english too!! many return year after year, So if you have booked this hotel and are reading all these rubbish reports, dont believe everything you read!! You will love it, :)

Room Tip: Air con is 70 Euros for the 14 nights. A must see is the ship wreck and blue caves, AMAZING

We have just returned from a week staying at The Admiral and would not go back again. It is definitely not a 3*. On the positive side, our room was clean and to be fair the food was not too bad - breakfasts were repetitive but the dinners were fine. We tended to eat dinner at The Captains Hotel as it was quieter and larger. The pool at The Admiral was very busy and by the time we had had breakfast all of the sun loungers had been "reserved" with towels. Drinks were very disappointing, the soft drinks were in large plastic bottles and not a proper brand - the cola was cheap and nasty. The entertainment was almost non-existent and totally targeted towards the Eastern Europeans who make up the majority of the holiday makers.
All in all, the general impression we had was that this is an all-inclusive holiday done on a shoe-string.
My husband said that it reminded him of Butlins in the sun.

We have spent 7 night in this hotel in Argassi, small summer town located cca 3km from Zakynthos city. This hotel is focused on polish and russian people, including the staff...if you look for a nice and quite place, this one is definitely not for you. You can find many many other locations and hotels with better food and services. We have used this hotel just for overnighting and eating, which is anyway same all the time we have been there. Not good, not bad...doesn´t worth for mentioning. The pool is cca 5 metres from the frequent street and is very small. The official rating of this hotel - 3 stars - is a joke. 2 is maximum...
If you have more time than we had, choose another hotel, not this. You will be dissapointed.

Room Tip: Don´t book a room in the basement close to the restaurant and the pool. It is very noisy area
