Arrived midday on Friday 8th August and stayed for one week. Were shown straight to our room (studio 8 on the second of three floors just behind the pool bar) by the lovely reception staff. The room was what you would typically get in any 2* Spanish or 3* Greek hotel. Lots of wood, a little tired but spotlessy clean and realistically who spends large amounts of time locked in their room on holiday. Large balcony, decent fridge and air con which we paid for at 5 euro a day. My only qualm with the room was the shower, hand held and very difficult to avoid getting water everywhere or getting stuck to the shower curtain. The pool area is great although whilst we were there a large group of Italians thought they owned the place. The food at the pool bar was really nice and reasonably priced as were the drinks. The lady behind the bar whose name is Daphne I think was one of the nicest, friendliest people I have met. She really made my pregnant wife and I feel at home from day one. Location is outstanding, right between the two main roads in Argassi although this did not prevent us sleeping well. I'm not sure how other folk heard music at night, we didn't hear a thing. Wifi hit and miss tbh but not an issue for me. Lots of lovely restaurants. I would avoid Dolce Vita, unreal tapas but the worst customer service I've come across. Try Papillon. Beer Academy for decent drinks and sport. I wouldn't hesitate in returning here.

Me and my teenage daughter stayed at Katerina palace for 10 days from 29th July to 8th August. We had a lovely time and it was very convenient to the shops and take aways, but we had trouble with the music noise from the bar and surrounding area. Music played from 9.00am-midnight so no early nights!!!! Also doors slamming and furniture being moved and people coming back from their evenings, it was quite after midnight.
We stayed in the self catering studios room number 8. Before we arrived I e mailed to ask for a top floor away from the bar, we were given a middle floor behind the bar which was a shame...The studio was small but a good base and nice balcony, there were 2 hobs a kettle and a toaster but I struggled even making toast because of the lack of work surface!! Luckily there were plenty of near by take aways such as 24/7 that we used daily and the bakery. The studio was kept clean with a daily maid.
Apart from the constant music the pool area was brilliant, it was clean a good size and deep! There was also a good sized quieter pool below. As it was August ther were a huge amount of wasps especially in the bush near the bar.. If we had problems like locking our selves out or being unable to turn the hob off reception dealt with it promptly. The air conditionig was 5 euros a day but very needed!! WIfi did not work in the studios but we could connect in the hotel reception. We went on excursions with Thompson which were well run. On the last day we left for a plane at 6.00 we had to vacate our room at 10 but we were offered a room in the hotel for 30 euros for the day or use of the safe for free (which we did). Overall we had a good time I would go back to Zante but maybe not to katerina because of the noise that kept us awake.

Room Tip: Ask for the new apartment block and a high floor

The room was very dark, in fact we had to have the lights on at all times. The room was in need of refurbishment. It was cleaned on a daily basis though. Couldn't get round the pool for the majority of the time due to towels being put round early in the morning. Had no hot water for the first day and the couple below our room had flooding problems.
The wi-fi was virtually impossible to use both in reception and round the poolbar. The staff are friendly and helpful. But this is not the usual Greek 3* standard.

My husband and I have just returned from a weeks break here and we stayed in an appartment on a self catering basis . The rooms are a little outdated and would benefit from a bit of TLC . We stayed in room 29 and the door lock was very dodgy but after reporting this to reception it was sorted very swiftly. The beds are not very comfortable though but after a few drinks you wouldn't notice! I would have preferred the safe to be in our room but they are based in reception so no major issue just our preference. The pool bar was great the lady who works on there during the day was such a lovely lady , the food we found to be great here too . The chicken club sandwich with chips was enough for both of us!! Mick the rep for Thomson was a lovely chap . We had no issues with getting a sunbed at approx 9-9.30am either! We would definitely return to this hotel (there was a lot of English here too) . You just need to remember that most accomodation in Greece is basic!

Stayed here for 14 nights in september! we could not fault this hotel we had an amazing stay! the rooms and bathrooms were very clean which was my main concern!
We emailed the hotel prior to our stay to ask for pool view rooms, when we arrived late in the evening we wernt sure if this was going to happen ... we were walked upto our room which had TWO sea/pool view balconies on the second floor we were delighted!
We did pay extra for a mini fridge and safe I think it was 50 for each!
the pools were huge! the bar at the main pool always played music and they served the nicest strawberry daiquiris i ever tasted! the food at the hotel was also lovely esp the salads! it was great for the days we decided to sit by the pool all day as we didnt have to leave to eat! the staff were also very friendly! one of the evenings there was a greek night and it was one of the best and most fun experiences ever!
The hotel only had wifi in the lobby and at the pool but this didnt bother us as we could quickly check our emails before leaving for dinner every evening and that suited us fine
recommend this hotel to everyone and will deffinetly be staying here on our next visit to zakynthos!

Room Tip: email prior to visit and ask for sea view :)

We booked this holiday in the full knowledge that this was not a five star hotel and we certainly did not pay five star prices. The hotel is basic and "a little old" but overall is clean and bedding and towels are changed regularly, the only concern was the main pool which could have been cleaner, on one day there was a slick of something floating in the corner which was still there the following day. The pool bar serves a good range of drinks and snacks at reasonable prices and the staff are very pleasant, as indeed were all of the staff, and the owner is around every day and is approachable and pleasant. Room air conditioning and the fridge are charged at 5 Euros a day each, well worthwhile for the air conditioning but a bit extortionate for a fridge, we declined the fridge and ironically it was working but in a locked cabinet, therefore using electricity and adding to the heat in the room.

The breakfast is basic, offering fruit juice, tea and coffee, ham and cheese and bread, but it is typical of many hotels we have stayed in, although some offer a greater choice, but we have had holidays at twice the price where the breakfast was no more interesting.

The hotel has a policy of removing towels from unused sunbeds, according to a sign on the poolbar, but in common with many hotels this is not enforced. We saw towels placed by 8 AM and the beds unoccupied until mid afternoon.

The wifi is very hit and miss, so if, as one reviewer commented, you need a reliable connection to carry on your business, this is not the hotel for you. If, like us, you only need occasional access to clear out your junk mail and do the odd posting on Facebook, there are plenty of bars nearby with free wifi. I only mention this as the hotel is stated to have free wifi and if you have kids, they will be frustrated with the intermittent and slow performance.

Within a few minutes walk there are many bars and restaurants offering the expected fare at competitive prices, and the staff are all very pleasant. I would recommend the Ethnic restaurant, and also the Piccadilly, where you get 10% discount with a card from reception. For snacks or less formal meals, or a full English, the 24/7 bar and the beer academy / snack academy are great value and offer great service, the ladies in the beer academy are very attentive and efficient. If you want something a little more "English" in the evening, try Legends, where we had a chilli and bangers and mash toward the end of the holiday.

All in all, given what we paid for this holiday the hotel was great ( except the pool issue, but the sea is only a five minute walk away ), we had a wonderful time, the weather was terrific, the people are very friendly and the resort is lively but not overly so. We saw no issues of rowdiness in the two weeks and the atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant. Provided you are not expecting Hilton standards, which you should not for the price, this is a pleasant hotel in a friendly sun soaked resort which is not too busy, what is not to like.

Room Tip: Try to avoid a lower floor room, the plumbing is Greek.
