We found Bambu gave us everything we wanted from our holiday. Peace, tranquillity, facilities which allowed us to mix with like minded people. Weather was amazing & the pre holiday support & imformation pack in the room helped us make the holiday complete. Were going for 2 weeks next year!!

I stayed at Bambu for a week in August 2013. It was a last minute holiday I booked as I really needed some time away from everything, and Bambu certainly gave me the relaxing time that I needed. The hosts Catherine and Susanne were very welcoming and helpful, and I couldn't fault the place one bit - the rooms were great, stunning views, nice pool, and the common areas were an ideal meeting place to get to know the other guests.

The setting is also ideal - its a nice (short) walk to the local town if you need supplies or to have a drink or something to eat. On the walk you will find mango, avacado, pommegranate, fig and almond trees (and watch out for the occassional goat!). I went to Torre del Mar and Velez Malaga a couple of times, which are just a short drive away. So Bambu is close enough to civilisation but far enough away to really chill out. In all, highly recommended!

We arrived exhausted and stressed out after moving house and left relaxed and refreshed. We stayed in room 7 Maroma and loved having the large private terrace. We spent most of our time on the terrace...reading, eating and sunning ourselves. Catherine was very welcoming and we were impressed that she said we could stay as long as we liked on the day we left as no-one was coming in after us. We loved having the company of the three friendly cats; Freddie, Cleo and Delilah.

It was great to have plenty of towels and that they didn't mind us using them at the pool (and beach if we'd gone). We had planned to walk down to the village to eat some evenings but didn't fancy the walk back in the dark...driving on that track in daylight was enough of an adventure for us!

this was our third visit to bambu, yep!! its that good we keep going back..
we had a brilliant holiday with a great mix of guests, those to have good conversation with, those to party with and those to chill with!! it just ticked all the boxes for us...
if you have not been to Bambu then you are missing out, so just book it and go and you will not regret it!!! Catherine and Suzanne provide the perfect little paradise and give you the space to enjoy it!! nothing is too big or difficult for them, just ask.. if you run out of beer no fear Suzanne will arrive with a top up... if you want to relax the pool is fantastic or if you feel like going for a hike Catherine will bring you on the best gorge walk imaginable!!!
the accommodation is lovely, we love no. 2 and the cats will wake you every morning just for cuddles... the apartments are really clean aand well maintained and the shower is super powerful!!!
the local village is typical Spanish and friendly with typical Spanish cuisine and culture.
andalucia if you have not visited already is a must... it is so wild and rugged with local goats adorned with bells passing the bambu gate a regular treat for guests.
other places like nerja, competa , Granada, Rhonda, Malaga all places that we and other guests visited on different days.
so if you want a holiday that ticks all boxes, suits all ages and all kinds of women then Bambu is ideal and to be honest the cheapest holiday we have had to date!!

Room Tip: no 1 and no 2 are nearest the pool lovely but you will get the night time swimmers

My friend and I stayed at Bambu for five days in July. From start to finish, Catherine was brilliant, so helpful and friendly. We couldn't have asked for more. Personally I think we had one of the best suites - the only twin one - which had its own terrace shared with one other suite.

The view from it was amazing; mountains and beautiful sky. My friend spent many hours on the wall, sunbathing.

We found the walk into the local village fine but managed to get a lift back with our shopping when needed and taxis at other times. . It is a bit difficult to get a taxi but not impossible and Catherine also provides a service, for a reasonable cost, when available. I can see how having a car would be the preferrable option but Catherine also offers trips around and to Malaga etc so you don't HAVE to have one.

Everyone else was friendly too and we enjoyed hanging out at the lovely clean pool.

The suite itself was nice and provided all that we needed.

The local village does have at least one restaurant, los lomas, so that was good, and we ate there twice.

We both said we would definitely go back as we had such a wonderfully relaxing time. It is a perfect location to chill out and get away from the stress of city living.

But if you wanted to be more active the brochure in each suite has a variety of ideas and options such as horse riding.

We both opted to have a massage instead!

All in all a fantastic holiday that didn't last long enough! Thank you!

Helen, London

Just returned from Bambu and missing it already! As this was our first visit we didn't know what to expect, however on arriving we immediately felt at home and relaxed into our holiday. We met some amazing people, Irish, English, French, and even a California Gal, all of whom we intend to keep in contact with. This place is special, so beautifully Spanish, with fabulous views of the surrounding mountains of Andalucía, beautiful places to visit during your stay, (car hire is recommended), although the hosts Catherine and Susanne have an amazing itinerary of trips should you not have a car. The days spent relaxing by the pool, with the odd pool Olympics thrown in (we had great fun) we 'gung ho' English were well beaten by the 'cool' French Chicks. Evenings were spent chatting and socialising over drinks at the stone table where laughter flowed!! We will definitely return, Thanks to our hosts and to everyone we met during our stay.

Room Tip: Rooms 5, 6 and 7 are more private.
