We were in Normandy region driving between Mont St. Michel and Bayeux for our D-Day tour and we made a point to find this restaurant specifically because of its great reviews on Trip Advisor! Our French-speaking son went into a semi-dark restaurant, after we noticed a couple inside. He explained that we had sought them out because we had heard great things and inquired if they were open? The lights came on, outside light was lit, wood put on the fire and smiles and graciousness greeted us from the moment we arrived! We were there on our Thanksgiving, so we intended it to be a treat for all of us and it certainly was! My husband nad I shared the steak for 2, which as described in all the reviews was cooked over the fire we were seated beside. Our son had a shish-ka-bob (can't remember its French name) also cooked in front of us! The meat was delicious, flavorful, and tender. The appetizer provided was a pastry wrapped piece of meat which was delicious! Also accompanying the meal was a roasted tomato and a beautifully layered potato au gratin. The wine recommended suited us perfectly! Our only regret was that we didn't get a chance to try a dessert, because we were too well-fed! For the entire time we were there, we were the only customers in the place. I truly believe they may have been closed, but opened for us! Awards and recognition for exemplary cooking hung on the walls--as did a photo of the place taken maybe 100 years ago. I highly recommend you go out of the way, re-route your trip and FIND this little place. You won't be sorry!
