We spent 3 nights in this pusada, and had a great time. You literally sit on the beach, which is great. The water is a little complicated to access due to the rocks, so don't forget some shoes for the water.
The staff is very nice and helpful, good cuisine too! And you can walk to the city center if you want some action.

Spent 4 nights here with my husband after a hectic 3 weeks working in Rio for the Olympics. Weather was mixed with 2 days rain, 2 days sunshine, though that didn't matter so much as the idea was to catch up on sleep and relax. Staff had limited English, but we managed to get by. Room on the 2nd floor was spacious and had great views to the ocean, it was clean & comfortable. The grounds were lovely, with plenty of sun loungers & shade if you needed it. We had dinner here on the first night, but as the Pousada is close to the township, it is an easy walk to get a larger variety of restaurants with better food. Would recommend

Lovely Pousada right on the beach with friendly and very helpful front desk staff. Simple and clean room with beautiful sea view. Lovely to go to sleep to the sound of the waves. Breakfast was superb! Spent time in the lounge which gave us an opportunity to meet other guests. We could walk easily into town thru street or along the beach (at low tide) for dinner, lots of restaurants. We took the bus from Salvador to Praia do Forte and back. The bus stop in Praia do Forte is 10mn walk from the Pousada. I wish we had stayed longer in Praia do Forte and in the Pousada.

The hotel is simple but does the basics very well. Rooms are good, clean and quiet and most have great views. Food is excellent although the breakfast buffet is probably the only meal you will take there as the small town in 5 mins walk and there are many good restaurants there. Location is magical. Close enough to the town for shops and restaurants but walk the other way and you will have miles of deserted beach almost to yourself. Best of all it to get up early, grab a coffee and sit on their chairs overlooking the beach and ocean and watch the turtle heads pop out of the water at high tide. At low tide it can be tricky to swim in front of the hotel but a short walk in either direction can cure that. For that region, the hotel is a stand out and I would go back in a heartbeat

My husband and I spent four days at Porto da Lua for our honeymoon. We couldn't have chosen a better place. The location is perfect, right on the beach. We stayed at the Honeymoon suite, a large beachfront bedroom with a wrap-around balcony. At night, we could hear the sounds of the waves and every morning we could see the sunrise. The daily breakfast was delicious, they served several types of cakes, breads, cold cuts and typical food from Bahia (such as tapioca with condensed milk and bolinho de estudante). They also served great omelettes. The staff was wonderful, I'd like to highlight Jeane and Andre who were always bringing was delicious drinks while we were laying by the beach.

Every morning, while we were at the beach, our bedroom was cleaned and our fridge was replenished. The front desk girls were always helpful, they helped us to arrange transportation to/from the airport, coordinate a tour to a nearby attraction (we didn't go), find good restaurants/bars and print out our boarding passes.

The hotel is really close to the village, 5-10 min walk. After spending the day at the beach, we could just walk to the many restaurants at the village and have amazing food every night. There were many options for us to choose. People in Praia do Forte were friendly everywhere we went, we had such an amazing time!
