“Pleasant accomodation, good food, service excellent”
Reviewed 10 July 2013

I have stayed twice at this hotel now. A manor house set in beautiful grounds but not far from main road network. Both times I have been in the converted stable block away from the main house which is for business/single travelers. The first room I had was newly renovated in moderns style with ensuite of good quality fittings and although not large enough for a one night stay without feeling cramped. Second time I was allocated a different unrenovated room which was very dated, worn and much more cramped. This despite booking early and selecting the up-rated room. Seems it is a lottery! The main house is excellent, bar has interesting features with a large standard dining room. Food was great (especially the bar menu) but not cheap. All in all not bad but with prices creeping up (£50 a year a go £79 this year) I feel it's perhaps not going to be as attractive unless they finish renovating all the rooms to the same standard

Thank you for reviewing your enjoyable stays with us. Indeed, every bedroom is different and whilst most are refurbished there are a few still awaiting this and are on the programme to be done.

We look forward to welcoming you back again.

Stayed here for one night and it is the best hotel I have stayed in for a long time. The setting is beautiful and the staff were all polite and friendly. Very happy to stay here again and will be recommending the hotel to friends and family.

My husband and I attended the wedding reception of a great - nephew and his wife, at Highfield Park, yesterday.
It was a wonderful sunny day and the setting at the hotel was perfect. The grounds at the rear of the hotel were breathtaking with green fields stretching for miles around - an amazing background for wedding photos.
The staff were very attentive from the time of our arrival to the time we left. Our meal was excellent, hot and well presented too.
Thank you to all the staff for making the day "special" for us all.

We were a party of four and chose to stay here overnight prior to our day at Ascot due to roadworks on the M25.
Our rooms were lovely and staff more than a accommodating especially as one member
of our party was taken ill and unable to attend Ascot on the day. The manager stated no problem
with the bedroom being available and ensured that staff would be on call if required so that the rest
of our party could attend Ascot with peace of mind. On our return our ill member had recovered
sufficiently for us all to return home, but not before telling us as to how well the staff had been and nothing was too much trouble.

We will certainly use the hotel again.

Arrived at 7pm....allocated room in Fir Court.....a long way to haul your luggage.....room small but with all you need (except a radio). Plenty of power points, iron, trouser press etc. Bathroom even smaller, small shower with poor extractor but again served its purpose. Dinner was a very slow affair although there were 12 of us.....but the wait staff were busy with other tables too. Menu OK with reasonable choice but then we found numerous dishes were not available ....wait staff should have been briefed by chef. Meal reasonable but not exciting in any way. Room quiet all night with no disturbance. Breakfast a poor affair.....English breakfast pre cooked and was drying out on my arrival at 7am.....fruit and pastries with tea consumed as a result....shame because a cooked breakfast goes a long way in my assessment of my stay. Would stay again but the catering needs to up its game to the rest of the hotel's standards.

Room Tip: Take your own radio and bottled water

We stayed here for one night as we wanted to avoid the M25 and M3 as we knew we could go across country to get to Ascot.

The room was wonderful with lovely views. The staff were very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble.

A wonderful setting.

Room Tip: We were in Room 8 which was in the main house.
