Menu outside, we were craving for lechazo... They have even degustacion menu with it. Ok lets give it a try.
First disappointment, no lechazo at dinner (would hv been nice to have it mention it on the menu or outside.)
Service friendly but absolutely uncoordinated.
Nice mushroom dishes, excellent rabo the toro. Chuletitas de lechazo with a burn taste (if you like it...). Portion is microscopic for 17 euro....
In my opinion the should focus on mushrooms and rabo de toro and get the service organised because with these prices customers expect something.

This restaurant from the outside looks inviting and nicely decorated with a wood fired oven, we arrived early for lunch on a Saturday and were given a table in the downstairs room. We started off badly with staff that ignored us for twenty minutes and then when they finally came to take our order our first four choices were unavailable on the menu, this was met with a don't care less attitude from the waitress who looked gobsmacked that we would actually asked for these dishes even though they were clearly on the menu. I can't remember if the house speciality is lamb or pig but either way this was not available either because we had to order it in advance!!! I had a plate of cold mushrooms with a poor man's scraping of truffle over the top. My husband had a chicken dish which he could barely eat, hard bones mainly chicken scraps no breast or leg in sight (as some compensation when we complained they did not charge us for this dish). We were located near the door where many people came trooping in and out delivering an icey draught! People who had obviously reserved kept being told to come back in twenty minutes, we had a family that stood waiting by our table for over ten minutes with crying toddlers. The wine cellar is across the road in another building so staff kept nipping in and out to get wine and to have a crafty fag, it was very uncomfortable, busy and cold. We could not wait to get out of there!!!

We entered to find most tables taken, but not all and there were also used plates piled on one table. We waited for attention from any of the three staff that we saw. And we waited. We were about to leave when one at last gave us eye contact but did not approach. We would like a table I asked. I received a grunt but no attention. Saw some precooked food being warmed in a clay oven. As we shuffled to leave the member of staff cam over and said "This Way". We followed. They gathered plates off another table and went to the kitchen. We waited. They emerged and signalled us upstairs. And there we were left. There were several tables but no diners. So we descended the stairs and left. They looked at us in shock as if to say "what did we do wrong". The casual, unprofessional rudeness was unbelievable. We ended up getting a pizza!

The lamb is the highlight here. And it is delicious. Stopped on the way back to Madrid for lunch and found this restaurant off the main square.

Eating at Fonda Caracoles it’s a pleasureof senses. Rose and her staff do their best to ensure a wonderfull experience once you get into their place.
Products of “Castilla Lands”are carefully selected and cooked with very good judgment and taste.
From land their mushrooms (boletus) and mushrooms (cardo), cheeses, meats and of course, the delicacies of "lamb" (either chops or roast). Grilled crabs are exquisite! Speechless!.
The wine carte is at the height of the dishes mentioned, and put the finishing touch, you must content and reserve place to taste the homemade desserts that put the finishing touch to gourmet feast.
