This was such a lovely converted farm building in which to spend a family holiday. Comfortable without being fussy it was easy to relax here after a day sightseeing. The longest drive we did from here was to The Deep, Hull, everything else was within an hours drive. The walk along the bridle path took us up to The Chevin - not at all far. With the current heatwave it was pleasant to return to a cool house. A lovely house on a special location. Well worth a stay here.
Wonderful location, great cottage, eclectically furnished, wood burning stoves, comfortable beds and it was very clean. Many little "extra"s in the kitchen which meant we didn't have to purchase everything we needed for cooking a meal, etc.
1. It is in the flight patch for Leeds/Bradford Airport but you don't really notice the noise and the airport is only operational for 18 hours/day.
2. The wood burners had wood supplied for only 1 day and we had to source firewood. It would have been nice if we had been given the option of purchasing a "firewood package" so we didn't have to traipse around Otley looking for it.
3. The en-suite shower was pathetic yet the family bathroom had a great shower!
4. The heating went out during the day and at night and we had no idea how to turn it back on/could not find any controls for the heating, which is November is quite important. However, this did not make our stay any less enjoyable.
It would be nice to have more information in the folder regarding the cooker, fires, etc.
Overall I would recommend this property to anyone who wants to get away from it all yet be within 10 minutes drive of a small market town (Otley) and/or airport. The road to the cottage is very narrow (Carlton Lane) and the cottage is situated on a bridleway off this road.
