We also used a Groupon voucher which was excellent value for money. We were only a hour away from where we live but that shortened our time in travel to the places we visited and as the pub is dog friendly we were able to take our small dog with us which was nice as we had planned to do a lot of walking. The staff were friendly and the room was clean and looked nice, the only slight problem was that the bed was very low down and my father in law has a bad back so he found it a bit uncomfortable. The room had usual drinks-making facilities and a slide door to the shower and toilet within the room. The breakfast was a bit strange as all we were offered was the full english (which was very nice) and tea or coffee, I presume that if you wanted anything else they expected you to ask.The hotel is in a good location for visiting the Dales, Skipton, Malham Cove/Gordale Scar Bolton abby/railway Harrogate, Swinsty & Fewston reservoirs and if you call to patley bridge there is an excellent butchers that sell tasty pork pies and pastys. The food served in the pub all looked very nice and the menu was very interesting with a lot of local produce used. The pub is on the main A59 and it is a very busy road but after about 8pm traffic eased off. We hope to visit again in the future.

The staff were friendly and the room was clean and looked nice, with fresh towels each day and drinks-making facilities. The delicious breakfasts set you up for the day, and the evening meals are also worth trying.
(Re Alan ReadingUK review - our bed was uncomfortable - too low for us I'm afraid and the mattress was very hard.)
The hotel is in a good location for visiting the Dales, Skipton, Malham Cove/Gordale Scar etc. and of course, it is close to Swinsty & Fewston reservoirs.
Will visit again.

Booked 2 rooms for family long weekend in April. Nice location, friendly staff (in a Yorkshire way - don't expect gushing luvvieness!) Breakfast was great. Dinner good too. Small selection of good beers.
Smallish but adequate room. Free wifi didn't reach the furthest room. Tiny but again adequate shower room (no bath). Spotlessly clean and all in good condition.
Good location for visiting the Dales, Harrogate, etc, or for walking but in the middle of nowhere.
My wife found she had backache after a couple of nights but the other three of us were fine. The beds felt fine not in any way saggy so it's hard to say if it's related.
Stayed with a Groupon voucher so vfm was fantastic. Not sure what the full price was.

After arrival at the hotel we were taken to our room which was compact but had everything we needed. Our room looked out to fields full of lambs. The atmosphere in the bar was fantastic, we had already arranged to go out for a meal on our first night and when we got back the place was full, Joe the manager plays great background music all day. The breakfasts were freshly cooked to order and tasted delicious. We ate at the hotel the second night and the food was amazing, try the Hopper Whale, a huge fish with hand cut chips and minted mushy peas. We walked round the 2 reservoirs opposite the hotel which is well worth doing. Will definately stay here again.

My wife and I stayed here this weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We booked it using a Group On voucher and decided to have a quiet night away without the kids but with our dog who received a friendly welcome from the owners and residents.

The reservoir walk is extremely near by and proved to be ideal for us for a Sunday stroll.

The staff are friendly and make you feel welcome and the food is good too. I challenge anybody to finish the Hopper Whale!

Our bedroom was facing the main road but that didn't cause any problem for us as we were shattered from the days walking and slept straight through until the morning without any interuption.

We tucked into a very nice full English breakfast in the morning and told Joe that we would be back later in the year and we are already looking forward to it.

Just returned from a stay at this lovely hotel. The place has been sympathetically updated and the modern aspects blend beautifully with the older original features. The bedroom, a double, but on the small side, but perfectly adequate for a short break, was complete with the obligatory tea making facilities and a rather smart flat screen TV. The ensuite was up to date too with lots of hot water and a reasonable shower.

Joe, the General Manager, and his team were very welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. The breakfasts set us up for a day in the Dales and when we returned, tired and exhausted, we were ready for a delicious evening meal from the extensive menu.

This is a little gem on the edge of the Dales and well worth a visit. We will definitely be staying there again.
