“Wonderful food, accommodation could do with improving.”

We stayed here for just one night.

Arrived to the fact that although we had booked a family room, there wasn't any available so we had to move from a lovely but small double into a twin. We were told this was because they had a wedding on and there wasnt enough space. Not a great start. The staff promptly brought us a mattress through for our little boy, although he did have to sleep on the floor.
The room was clean enough and spacious but it so smelt fusty and damp throughout. I actually struggled to sleep because the smell was so awful.

In addition, the beds were very uncomfortable, you could feel all the springs and the pillows were terrible,. So all in all not much sleep was had.

However the bar area and restaurant were beautiful, the food was magnificent, (dinner and breakfast) and the staff were lovely.

I think that if some more care and attention were paid to the rooms, more luxurious beds, better lighting (was quite difficult getting ready without proper lights) and just general tidying up, plus a real sort out of that smell, then the hotel would be just amazing. Would go back again if this was sorted.

Room Tip: Make sure to book a double room as the twin ones are in a damp lodge.

We stayed here a couple of weeks ago as a well deserved treat. We've stayed here before, we enjoyed it but we really appreciated it this time around.

We stayed on a Sunday night with a great deal, it was 130 pounds for bed and breakfast, dinner AND a treatment at the spa. You find this on their website so it's definitely worth checking for deals.

The location is superb, just outside of Otley and like a hide away. It's like a ski lodge and set in a hidden forest.

We were upgraded without being told to an executive room which was a lovely surprise. We stayed in room 68 and it was absolutely brilliant. Massive room, comfortable bed, sofa with a flat screen tv, dvd player and an iPod dock. The bathroom was small but perfectly formed and on the plus side the bath was big. You were given robes and slippers and a free tray of fruit. Brilliant!

The dinner was from a set menu but had a great selection, you could pay a few more pounds for anything on the menu but really there was no need. The food is a bit fancy but still tasty.

The bar isn't overly expensive, about 3.50 a pint and 4.50 a glass of wine.

Breakfast was excellent, very tasty and they had haggis which is always a nice addition!

The spa treatment was a 30 minute back, neck and shoulder massage. Couldn't recommend it enough, if you can stay on Sunday I wouldn't hesitate, look on the official website and get booking!

Room Tip: Stay on a Sunday night! Room 68 is great

I almost do not want to review as I don't want to share this amazing retreat and then not be able to just book in. But it deserves it as its the most special place we have been to. We have been twice now and could not rave or praise this hotel enough.

The food is 5*!!! the set menu offered changes each day with the option to change your main course. 7 Courses each one more tasty than the last. The normal day menu is available at any time of the day or night and can be ordered to your lodge. Reasonably priced as well!

We stayed in The Dales which is a private lodge with a hot tub. I can not again write how amazing it is.the lodges & settings are romantic & relaxing. The old wooden style with a hint of cozy is so amazing.

The staff are the friendliest ive ever met, they can not do enough for you. Everyone you meet is helpful and easy to chat with.

We had treatments in the spa and yet again... AMAZING!!

I could write all day how much we love going to this place but i don't want you all go haha!

Room Tip: For the extra special occasion ask for the dales. Private hot tub!

We stayed here on Saturday night for our car club Christmas party and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We stayed in a log cabin which was quite small but very warm and cosy. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The evening meal was exceptionally good and again the staff were excellent. The breakfast was very good, you ordered your cooked breakfast so all cooked to order, no hot buffet breakfast. We would recommend here for a cosy wintery night stay. There is a swimming pool and hot tub but we didn't use the facilities. The hotel is set is lovely countryside and very peaceful and quiet.

Room Tip: Some rooms are in the hotel but we stayed in a log cabin which I would advice booking. Some are sma...

Stayed here with work for one night and really enjoyed my stay. The log cabin look made it something different and very fitting for a December stay.
A very comfortable bed, but I struggled to get the pillows right which stopped me getting a good sleep.
The dinner and breakfast menus were top notch too.

My wife and I have just returned from spending 4 nights at this wonderful hotel. We stayed in one of the Lodges at this time of year so snug and cosy and so quiet and relaxing. The General Manager and his wife run one of the best hotels in England. The pool and other facillities are excellent and keep spotless. But the highlight of all our holidays at this hotel is the restaurant 5 star what a chef produces such wonderful food. All staff compliment this wonderful hotel in the heart of Yorkshire we will certainly return again

My wife and I stayed for a night in one of the lodges. Lovely location and nice and quiet. The food in the restaurant was superb and we would return simply to eat there again. Staff were very friendly and we had the spa facilities to ourselves on the Sunday morning. Fantastic!
