Very good location if you want to pop into gibraltar often, only 3 min walk from border, recently renovated, to be more accurate still under renovation , kept really clean, really nice and helpful staff. Would stay there again.

I was very happy with this hotel. The price was very reasonable and it was situated in a nice, safe area. I was able to walk into Gibraltar in about 10 minutes from this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. At the time I went they were carrying out refurbishment on the restaurant so it was a bit chaotic but it was worth putting up with for the sake of all the other advantages! Very happy.
On arrival we found the restaurant was closed(I think for refurbishment Or could have been the winter) nothing to indicate this on the web site. I asked for a double room and was given a twin bedded, the air conditioning did not work, neither did the 14 inch flat screen tv. I eventually figured this out, the remote for the air con either didn't work or the batteries were flat so they had pulled the plug out of the socket above it on the wall unfortunately they had also unplugged the tv as well. They say parking is free on site but they only have 2 parking spaces so once they are full it's they local underground garage for a fee. The room was not particularly clean there was dirt in the corners and around the skirting. there were no bedside lights and only one bedside cabinet between the two beds. A table under the window had 2 drawers but one had no bottom in it. Needless to say I won't be staying there again.
we had a great stay here, and plan to return very soon, friendly staff lovely clean rooms, great value for money and great location great bars just minuets away also very close to gibralta we are looking forward to returning
Have just returned from a week staying in la campana, we have stayed in many of the hotels in la linea over the last 20 years and found this one to be one of the best. The hostel is small and friendly, the staff are happy to help and nothing is a problem the rooms are clean, the wifi is very useful and rooms have air con. There is a lot of noise in the street at times but you can shut the window to block it out and put the air con on. Location is great, near everything, ten minute stroll into Gibraltar and shops and bars a stones throw away. The hostel offers good food very cheaply I.e a three course meal for €9. If you want somewhere else to eat that is cheap and the food is great, walk to the end of calle real when you get to the church bear to the leftand find bar central, great swordfish and the friendliest of welcomes from the owners.
Just got home after touring round Southern Portugal and South West Spain. On the trip we spent two days in Gibralter and spent the night at the Hostel La Campana in La Linea (Boarder town on the Spanish side).
This Hostel is above a restaurant by the same name and run by the same people (Reception is in the restaurant). A double room for the night was 36 Euros, which was great value for money.
The room was spotlessly clean for a hostel and this money. I was well impressed. It's about a 4 minute walk from the Hostel to the boarder with Gibralter, and the Hostel is right on the edge of La Linea old town so in a perfect location. Most of the staff spoke English.
I ad a drama when leaving as I had lost the charging lead for my satnav. The Hostel owner helped me look for it in the room and when it could not be found escorted me to a local electrical shop and aided in translation so that I could buy a replacement. Very helpful.
Over all a great cheap place to stay.
