“Unpretentious but excellent value”
Reviewed 9 September 2013

We have eaten here several times and have never been disappointed. It is a tapas and raciones type place rather than a formal restaurant but every dish we have tried has been really good. It opens at 8 and if you want to eat without waiting for a table it is best to arrive at 8 as it fills up very fast. I have never seen it less than full. It is quite possible that the review by MilesX below , where he says it is terrible, is actually for one of the nearby places, which look similar but are usually nearly empty, which tells its own tale. The service is perfunctory but efficient and most of the clientele appear to be locals as the waitress seemed to know them all. Overall, it is a very colourful experience and good value.

“Sympatico”
Reviewed 17 August 2013

Should you be attracted by the sign " sidreria"? We do not know. Cider is a mater of taste. It is poured from a height and should be drunk quickly, possibly to avoid tasting it. It is certainly big business in Asturias. In this sidreria you are made feel welcome. The table is soignée the service friendly, the bread good, the housewine nice and the seafood good. Portions are generous. An english menu is available which makes life a bit easier although less adventurous. Try the grilled scallops.

“Great Tappas”
Reviewed 11 July 2013

Love this place, but get there early, they open at 8 o'clock in the evening when people are queuing at the door. Service is a bit brisk, not a lot of time for pleasantries, but food good, pulpo lovely, garlic prawns a must, and the garlic chicken is fab. If you can't translate the menu, ask for an English one which helps. This dosn't seem to be a place to hang around in too long, it seems like they like to get you in and out quite quickly, but worth a visit to sample their Tappas.

Reviewed 21 August 2012 via mobile

We had 2 dishes. The pork dish was ok but ordinary the prawn dish was terrible......the prawns had not been cleaned and also contained sand and to top it off they were 14€ for 10 prawns. Go somewhere else!

“Delicious Seafood!”
Reviewed 3 November 2011

This seafood tapas bar is a Must Visit! The food is simple yet delicious, and super-fresh (highly recommend the ‘pulpo’), and great local ‘sidra’ poured properly from a height.. if there’s 1 eatery in Ribadesella not to miss, it is Carroceu!
