What a great location this hotel has. Woke up to a gorgeous beach just outside my room. Had taken some cough medicines which knocked me out and I managed to forget my pochette with my passport in it somehow.!!! Amazingly when i called the hotel a couple of days later they had it, much to my relief. So the cleaning ladies are totally honest and I wrote them a note of thanks with a cash reward when I collected the pochette. The hotel is clean and comfortable and the beach has somehow managed to steer clear of high rises.

Room Tip: Try and get a sea view.

What a super hotel in a lovely town!! Ribadesella is one of the few towns we have visited in Spain that has been saved from over development and retains many of its old buildings. It's a little gem of a quiet seaside town, offering both a nice beach for swimming and a town for shops and eating. The hotel has a great location right on the beach. Our room was spotless and the view overlooking the bay was fantastic. Very friendly staff - would come again. Loved it!!

One night stay only so did not spend too much time at the hotel preferring to explore the area. That said the location, the area and the beach are faultless. We arrived by bus which is a 15 minute walk over the bridge from the old town and left by Feve train which is a slightly longer walk uphill to the station. The beach is unbelievable, empty even on a sunny June day and with wonderful views. There is a long and very well maintained promenade just between the hotel and the beach, no main road blocking your views or enjoyment, directly in front of the hotel which has a small gate for you to access. There is also a reasonable sized car park for anyone arriving by car. We checked in, smoothly and efficiently and walked along the coastline into the nearby old town which is low-key with an old, cobbled street centre and plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. We had our breakfast included and there was a reasonable choice of cereals, bread, yoghurt and fruit together with small hotplate for eggs and sausage. Everywhere was very clean and not cluttered. We had paid extra for a beach view which was spectacular, particularly at sunset and had a wonderful view of the tiny church just up the hill to the right which we would recommend you visit for the views alone. We had a very restful sleep with the windows left open listening to the waves.

Room Tip: We were not sorry we had paid extra for the sea view and would do so again

We chose this hotel because of its location to Santander and it's attractive setting. The weather was not kind to us. It was very unseasonal for June. However, this family run hotel with its friendly staff and great bedrooms with views over the beach and across the bay were a great compensation. The hotel architecture and that of much of the town reminded us of Deauville in France with the obvious pointers to a past of royalty and money as well as the art deco era. Fortunately the local council had the foresight to keep everything that was good and prevent the unsightly overbuilding of the Costas. The hotel only does breakfast but this is compensated by a wide range of restaurants within easy walking distance. This hotel is well worth a visit be it an overnight stay like us on our way to or from the Brittany UK ferry or for a holiday.

Good place to have a settler in town. Very close to beach, 15m. Small rooms but price-quality good. Great staff open to any help.

Close to hotel you can take a toy train to the center town, crossing river over bridge..

Lack of luxury thinks, dont needed!!

We stopped over in Ribadesella after leaving the ferry in Santander & on route for Galicia the next day. The hotel - as the location was a great choice for this. Set on the beach part of the bay - which is great if you like a run or stroll along the promenade & just the right distance to walk back after a good dinner in one of the various restaurants there.

The staff were attentive, rooms clean & spacious, good parking, wifi & a reasonable breakfast spread. All in all - just what we needed.

Room Tip: the rooms with a sea view of course are the best though a little extra - the bay is lovely.

We had a room with big windows opening out onto the beach with great views over the river mouth and up the beach. The windows opened wide and lovely sea breeze and wave sounds all night. Added to this the staff were very friendly, great breakfast and beds very comfortable. Lovely spot to stroll around the beach and river into town or even along the road to the famous caves - though need to book a place to get into the caves with the art-work.

Room Tip: Just loved the rooms with full-on sea views
