Cannot say enough good things about our hosts, Russ and Sergio. They were incredibly thoughtful of us during our stay (celebrating our wedding anniversary). Making dinner reservations and planning travel routes - even popping open a bottle of presecco to toast us before our anniversary dinner. Our favorite dinner of our entire 2-week trip was at the local agriturismo (more food that you can possibly imagine eating).

The accomodations (in the Bella Vista Suite) were the cleanest, roomiest and most modern of our entire trip - and at the most econoical price!!!

This region is absolutely beautiful - the surrounding scenery - and the proximity to the beach and mountains make this region a truly unique spot to vacation. We would highly recommend booking at La Grande Quercia - and would love to come back ourselves again soon!

Room Tip: Bella Vista Suite is well worth the extra cost!

We spent 2 weeks in Italy. Rome, La Grande Quercia Bed and Breakfast and the Almalfi Coast. The highlight of our trip was our time in Teramo. It is such a beautiful, peaceful place. What made it so special was the hospitality of Russ and Sergio. We immediately felt so comfortable and right at home. They have done a beautiful job of restoring and decorating this wonderful property. Any return trip to Italy will include a visit to La Grande Quercia!!

My wife and I have travelled many times to Italy, but never to the Abruzzo region. We decided to travel early summer this year and now on our return find ourselves wondering how this slice of heaven has remained undiscovered this long!
Without doubt the best part of out trip was the decision to stay at La Grande Quercia.

The facilities were superb - we stayed in the "Grande Vista" room which was massive, airy and tastefully appointed. The breakfast was great with fresh pastries, fruit from the orchard and sublime coffee!

Our hosts Russell and Sergio, the proud owners of the stunning La Grande were the most attentive owners of a B&B any guests could hope for. Their genuine love of the region was evident from not only from their knowledge of the beaches and the Grand Sasso National Park (absolutely breathtaking) but also their passion for the local cuisine. On the latter, we were directed to restaurants and eateries which only the locals would know for the true taste of Abruzzo.

For a relaxing authentic taste of Italy, we would thoroughly recommend La Grande Quercia.

We could have been happy just relaxing our time away at this special home away from home. La Grande Quercio is a clean and comfortable B&B in a restored stone farmhouse in the countryside between the mountains and the sea. Russ (native English speaker) and Sergio (native Italian speaker) are warm, friendly and accomodating and go extra lengths to ensure you have a perfect stay. The night we arrived worn out from an all day drive from Milan, we were too tired to go out but still a little hungry. Beer and crisps were shared with knowing smiles and were just what we needed to hold us over.

Russ and Sergio provide a great breakfast (yogurt, cereal, toast, fruit salad, juice, coffee, tea, and different fresh baked goods every day). You can see photos of the lovely house, rooms, yard and pool on their website. We chose La Bella Vista Suite which was delightful and so spacious. Russ and Sergio are very knowledgeable and helpful planning day trips in the area. They gave us tips on winery tours, agriturismos and restaurants for regional specialties, unique experiences or just the best pizza in the neighborhood.

We plan our own trips filled with cycling and visiting historic and cultural sites. We normally stay at hotels with restaurants for half board so we have dinners and plenty of wine or beer at hand without driving. But the reviews convinced us to try a B&B this time and we were thrilled we did. This was our first trip to Abruzzo and we can't wait to return. The roads are wonderful for cycling, and there are lots of historic sites, quaint medieval towns and dramatic nature - all with few tourists. Six days just scratched the surface, so we'll have to come back and stay at La Grande Quercia again!

Room Tip: TV & little fridge for guests in the lounge
