My husband and I visited three quieter regions of Italy in October - Abruzzo, Molise and Le Marche. Our first stop was La Grande Quercia in Teramo, Abruzzo, where we spent five days. All of the reviews for this B&B were excellent - and our experience was nothing less.
Russ and Sergio were marvelous hosts - serving us a delicious breakfast of figs from their trees, fresh squeezed pomegranite juice, lovely fresh savory tarts and much more.
Our room was comfortable and absolutely pristine.
One night my husband took a cooking class with Sergio - and we all got to enjoy the meal that evening.
Russ and Sergio helped us plan each day's outings - right down to providing us with an annotated map of the region. They called ahead to restaurants to make sure we would be accommodated and made arrangements for us to watch olive pressing in a neighboring town.
When we needed to do laundry - Russ took care of it for us for a modest 10 euro.
We hope to return with friends and family.More
