We stayed in the place just for one night, but we appreciated nice location. There were many families with children, they could do cycling, swimming in the river, playing with a ball... Bathrooms were clean, you have to buy token for showers, but it is quite usual.

Stayed on a caravan pitch. Tap and drainage and good sized pitch. As other reviews have said there was severe overcrowding in tent area and no toilet facilities in this part of the site. It's a shame the river was out of bounds (unless you wanted a tummy bug!) - I would like to know if this is to be resolved? Kayaking, bumper boats and play grounds fantastic. We found management helpful and really enjoyed the organised fun day. PLEASE empty bins more often they were attracting wasps - not to mention bad reviews! Shame for a site with so much to offer. As said in other reviews, chemical toilet disgusting, with attention to detail this could be a great site.

I will keep an eye on new reviews to see if improvements have been made, otherwise too expensive for messy site!!

Just back from hidden valley which had been recommended to us. What can I say. We are recent converts to caravaning. To summarise
The positives
1. Location
2. The exit
3. ?????? Can't think

Negatives
1. Rip off prices - with little in return - €46 per night
2. Management needs persanality transplants
3. Full of jackeens
4. Chemical waste disposal worst I've seen - 1000 litre tank
5. Seriously overcrowded - caravan pitched packed tightly and every square inch of space seemed to be rented

The location was good but got the feeling that because the demand outstripped the supply its open season on campers

I stayed in a tent with my 4 year old son. €24 for one night to pitch a small 2 man tent was more expensive than what I was used to.

The car park for the tent area was chaos. There were too many cars for the space. Maybe if the parking spots were painted, things would be better as there was a lot of wasted space due to bad parking. But I had to wait a couple of times for someone to leave, in order to park.

The car park gate had a security gate (good!) but the key pad was on the left hand side of the entrance so I had to get out of the car to enter the code every time (minor point, but puzzling design decision). Also it would have been preferable if kids did not have to cross the busy car park to get to the shop/playground.

unless you can camp close to the river or at the far end of the campground, you will find that the area around your tent will be a thoroughfare for everyone coming and going to the toilets or the carpark or playground. Groups of kids would literally walk right over your stuff or trip over guylines despite there being plenty of room to walk around. Maybe a path or two would help direct traffic away from the immediate (30cm) vicinity of tents.

Playgrounds were among the best I've seen in Ireland, although my 4yr old spent most of the time playing in the gravel by the river (kids!!)

Toilets and wash-up sinks & hobs were clean. One annoying thing, a problem in most "family friendly" places, there is no bathroom sink at a level that a 4year old can use.

Good campground in nice location, some problems which can be easily solved.

Field where we were camping was so full it was difficult to walk. Tents pitched almost on top of one another! Dog dirt outside my tent the entire time I was there. A broken parasol also lay on the grass along with a lot of domestic waste & old cloths along the river bank. Rowdy crowd. Night warden with bad attitude. We left after one night, even tho we had paid for two. Very disappointed.

Our family is just back from a wonderful holiday at this park. We stayed for one week in one of their holiday apartments. The apartments were very luxurious and had everything - two bedrooms, two bathrooms, full kitchen, living area with TV and balcony overlooking the park. There was also an enclosed courtyard which was handy to have with the kids. Everything was supplied apart from linens and towels. Was just a short 2 minute walk into the park. We will hire this accommodation again.

The park was well kept and lots of activities for all ages. More than we saw on other parks in Ireland. The campfires at night were a huge hit each night.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The guys working the boats and water balls were very nice and good at their jobs.

We used the bathrooms in the park when inside the park and they were always clean and there was always someone there.

Our one complaint was that we should have booked two weeks rather than one. There is enough to do at this park and around the area.

We would highly recommend and will definitely be back!
