We are very disappointment with Christmas offer which we bought on-line. Not enough heating in the rooms, poor quality service and park wasn't even work properly. Would not recommend to anyone, especially when you are driving from Dublin etc.

Fantastic place!! Either for a tent caravan or apartment. You and your children will have a fantastic time here. Showers and toilets spot less. Camp site is also very clean and well maintained. Lots of activities on site. Close to Clara Lara and the gorgeous glendalough.

Me and my girlfriend stayed in the Fishermans lodge for 2 nights, all I can say was wow! It was fantastic, spotless clean, fridge cooker shower the works. All we needed was our food, drink and sheets. The tele in the lodge had loads of channels and we had our dinner on our portable BBQ outside in the evening. And if it gets cold at night (it does) theres a little heater provided that heats the lodge up in no time. There is so much to do on site aswell during the day kayaking, bumper boats, air rifle, archery and more. There is even a little chipper/sweet shop on site that sells breakfast lunch, dinner, ice creams, nachos etc There is a lot of stuff to do for kids they will never get bored! All activities take tokens and its €2 per token, most activities charge 2 tokens per go. Glendalough is only a 15 minute drive away is definitely recommended!! Nearest pub/shop is a 10 minute walk up the hill when you leave the site and the food is also great in the pub, Jacobs Well. Overall the place is fantastic and REALLY well run and we will definitely be going back to Hidden Valley in the near future!

We heard such great reviews about this place last year and we only got round to visiting it yesterday. It wasn't really what I expected. We were lucky with the weather the sun was out and we were all looking forward to camping as a family for the first time. On arrival there was a large guy sitting outside reception, he reluctantly got up and checked us in. I work in the hospitality industry myself and am fully aware that you have to be nice and welcoming etc he had none of this.
Luckily as it is the end of season there weren't too many tents. We found a nice spot by the river but within a few minutes of arriving we were surrounded by nasty wasps. The ground was hard and stony and it was hard to get the pegs in.
Anyway, I just got the general feeling that they were there to round you up and shaft you. It's not very good that the playground closes and it wasn't open by 10 this morning. I didn't get a good night sleep so maybe that was part of the problem but the first thing we did when we got up in the morning was take the tent down and get the hell outta there! The bins are overfull and the wasp situation is really bad. You can't even sit out without them landing on you. As we were trying to pack up, my husband son and daughter had all been stung. Afterwards we drove up to River Valley in Redcross. It is much smaller but there is a really nice buzz about the place and the staff are very welcoming.
Maybe we were just having a bad run of it but I thought it was over rated and we won't be returning.
On a positve, the toilets were clean....

We stayed in the place just for one night, but we appreciated nice location. There were many families with children, they could do cycling, swimming in the river, playing with a ball... Bathrooms were clean, you have to buy token for showers, but it is quite usual.

Stayed on a caravan pitch. Tap and drainage and good sized pitch. As other reviews have said there was severe overcrowding in tent area and no toilet facilities in this part of the site. It's a shame the river was out of bounds (unless you wanted a tummy bug!) - I would like to know if this is to be resolved? Kayaking, bumper boats and play grounds fantastic. We found management helpful and really enjoyed the organised fun day. PLEASE empty bins more often they were attracting wasps - not to mention bad reviews! Shame for a site with so much to offer. As said in other reviews, chemical toilet disgusting, with attention to detail this could be a great site.

I will keep an eye on new reviews to see if improvements have been made, otherwise too expensive for messy site!!

Just back from hidden valley which had been recommended to us. What can I say. We are recent converts to caravaning. To summarise
The positives
1. Location
2. The exit
3. ?????? Can't think

Negatives
1. Rip off prices - with little in return - €46 per night
2. Management needs persanality transplants
3. Full of jackeens
4. Chemical waste disposal worst I've seen - 1000 litre tank
5. Seriously overcrowded - caravan pitched packed tightly and every square inch of space seemed to be rented

The location was good but got the feeling that because the demand outstripped the supply its open season on campers
