We booked this hotel on Booking.com for RM 192 (inclusive of breakfast). We stayed on the 26th floor and the view was amazing! The room was spacious, complete with a fan, air-con, and balcony which overlooked the skyline of Genting. Breakfast was great and the view at the cafe overlooked the golf course and hills.

On another note, the hotel is near Gohtong Jaya, which is where the Ratha Raub Fish Head Curry branch is located :) Yum!

We will definitely be back again!

Stay one night with family on 13 July 2014. Good for relax and golf.
During stay, sky way cable car does not work due to maintenance fire alarm system. Hotel provides free shuttle service if I am not mistaken hourly shuttle to Genting Higland Theme Park (which closed due to big renovation) approximately 15 minutes. Shuttle service will start in front of hotel lobby and will be ended in front of First Hotel as bus station. From this station we may visit Chen swee temple and mushroom garden with free shuttle service.
Room is big with new bath towel. Seems like all bed are twin bed but each with queen bed. It's very convenient for family. Carpet stain. I found a cookies in the room may be left by previous guest.
They put signage to always close the windows, but when entered the room most glass windows opened. And some windows can not close properly.
Check in and check out fast. Pool is nice.
Staff willing to help but no smile. Value for money.
If out door theme park open 2016. I want to stay again here

Room Tip: Highest floor

As you arrive at the First World Hotel where all the buses stop, you can wait at the waiting area for the Awana shuttle bus to arrive, which it does in a few minutes. Catch that and it will take you directly to the hotel, which is nestled in a valley below among picturesque scenery. You marvel at the flora and fauna and wish that you could enjoy such peace and tranquility for days to come.
The shuttle bus drops you at the parking bay and you have to go to the reception from there. The check-in is swift and mechanical. No one comes forward to help you with the luggage and you have to carry it yourself towards the lifts at the back end, which is quite a walk given the size of the resort.
The room is of a reasonable size with a balcony that offers a view of the mountains and the ugly structures down below. I suggest you look up rather than down. There is a wooden bench on the balcony where one can sit and enjoy a cup of tea.
Speaking of which, for every teabag you are charged Malaysian Ringgit 3 and for every bottle of water MYR5. There are no extras in the bathroom either so no slippers, bathrobes, lotion etc. - forget all that, there are no hand towels either. So you have to make do with the big bath towel for wiping your hands too.
Unlike the receptionists, who are terribly impersonal, the concierge at least has some expression on his face and is willing to gladly impart information sought from him. So he tells me that there is a 24 hour bus service to and from the First World Resort. So for gamblers, who forget all sense of time while they are at it, there is no cause to worry as the buses come and go even during the wee hours. Similarly, while departing, if you wish to take a bus to KL, the hotel shuttle takes you to the Skyway FOC from where you can catch hourly buses to any part of the Malaysian capital.
The resort has one restaurant - Rajawali- as well as a bar. I tried the masala dosa at Rajawali and it was good except the sambhar, which left a lot to be desired. Once again, the service totally lacked warmth or a welcoming spirit. For breakfast, there was a lot of food for others but terribly limited choices for vegetarians so I had one of the few options available - the uttapam, which was once again served with the same terrible sambhar.
The resort offers wi-fi for MYR 25 a day and MYR10 per hour.
It was busy with families and young couples. It was evident that the children were having a great time in beautiful natural surroundings. There is a golf course and archery area as well as a convenience store within the premises. So with all of this, you don't feel cut off from the other Genting Highlands hotels while at the same time enjoying a respite from all the madness and noise in the First World Resort complex.
If you want a quiet and peaceful holiday at Genting while also enjoying a dose of gambling and man-made theme park pleasures in your spare time, Awana is the resort for you. It offers scenic beauty, peace, tranquility, sporting facilities and a chance to enjoy quality family or me time - all of this at a reasonable price - but without too much of a friendly welcome.

Room Tip: I stayed at room 15561, which was reasonably sized with a two queen beds. It had a small balcony with a wooden bench. The view of the hills was enchanting but the view below of the ugly concrete structures deflected the attention.

Spent a week at Awana most of it by the pool. Not a lot to do here except relax. Courtesy buses were very good. Enjoyed meals in the Rajawali restaurant, Terrace cafe & Flavours cafe. Special mention to Shun at the Terrace & Puivan at Flavours. Exceptional service by both. Our room was ok. No air con. Probably could do with a bit of refurbishment
