This was a nice quiet and inexpensive place to start a tour of the Cabot Trail. Room was clean and the heat had been turned on. It is basic, but for the cost and convenience a nice place to stay. It is motorcycle friendly as well! We were probably the first riders on the trail this season.

My first impression walking into the office was the horrible smell. Just awful. We were given a room with red smelly dirty carpet, no wifi connection, and a BLOOD stain on the blanket! Owner was very rude and unprofessional. Very unimpressed

Spent 3 nights in September. A good deal and pleasant stay. Accommodations are clean and quiet. Nice location. Room included refrigerator and microwave - important to us. Be sure to walk down to the river forks area behind the library to see the real "Forks". Beautiful !!

I stayed in the suite 1 for a few nights with my dad whilst we were fishing in the local area and the accomodation was great value. The owner was very helpful and I would recomend it. The people in this area are very friendly.

We found this Inn on trip advisor, it looked OK, read the reviews and should have listened to them. On first glance it is in need of a lot of repair along with up dating (which I can usually live with); when we first entered the room the scent was old and musty, opened windows and it was OK. VERY far from anything like restaurants shops etc. and nothing to do in the immediate area. Yes the price was cheap but so was the experience. On the second night when we returned from our day out and about the smell of ??? (urine, fowl water???) was overwhelming, no one in the office so not a chance of changing rooms had to deal with it, couldn't leave there fast enough today. Had to travel many miles to find breakfast today, Inverness was the closest

Room Tip: Noise travels even from several rooms away

I called in reservations about a month in advance after contacting by e-mail about the date I needed. A few days after I called to confirm the reservation, he called to say they had made an error, and did not have the room I had requested, then within an hour he called and said they had had a cancellation. When I arrived, he had no record of my reservation, but the place was completely empty so it was no problem getting a room. I was sure thankful I hadn't encountered this much reservation confusion on any other night of our 3 week trip!! The room was large with a king bed, fridge, and wifi and was clean but very musty smelling. By the way, you do not a a view of the river in the deluxe rooms.

Contrary to recent reviews, i thought this place was great value for the price - the room was very clean with a microwave, refridgerator and coffee maker - paying half of what we paid in other places. The owner was a little mercurial - but OK.
It was too cold to use the pool - but we did use the extensive grounds to play football with our toddler! The access to the river is a bonus as is the Information Centre right opposite the road. Breakfast at The Dancing Goat about 7km ahead is a must - not many eating options close by.
