“Great value!”
Reviewed 21 August 2014

You know, a place this old for this price isn't going to be 110% perfect. But it's pretty darn close, for half the price of other places, and the owner and cleaning staff are fantastic. Any minor troubles we had he found a way to accomodate us, and when we left money in our room by accident she returned it to us right away. Great budget place in a beautiful spot.

After travelling the Cabot trail we ended up in Cheticamp. Let's just say one night was enough in that fishing community. We were booked for two nights. Not wanting to stay in the ugly village we looked elsewhere. Margaree Valley is beautiful and often overlooked. We ended up staying in the deluxe suite at the Riverview. It was more like a house. It was recently updated and spacious. Just what my family of 6 needed after a busy time on the Cabot Trail It was only a short drive from Cheticamp. Worth every second. The property is a little tired-but the owner is great. Be sure to stop at the Dancing Goat for baked goods and coffee.

Owner was really nice. Room was clean and spacious with solid wifi which was great after being in a cell dead zone on the Cabot trail. Pool was great too. Location is great also as you can choose multiple directions of travel following your stay.

My Son and I just returned from an eleven day motorcycle vacation to Nova Scotia. We had planned to spend the night in Inverness but found no rooms were available and through the efforts of another motel were able to contact the Margaree Riverview Inn and confirm they had a room available for us.
After riding in the rain on and off for the last two days we were looking for room to dry out in. We found the room to be clean with hardwood floors rather than icky carpet. The room, linens, bathroom were very clean. The room had closet space, the bathroom we roomy with a fan and a window that opened. We also found unused electrical outlets to charge our phones and our motorcycle helmet to helmet communicators. This may sound like a small thing but several rooms we encountered required we unplug a lamp or an alarm clock in order to charge devices.
The owner/manager Werner was professional and helpful in recommending a restaurant for dinner. The restaurant he recommended up in the Harbor was one of the highlights of our trip. We both enjoyed a lobster dinner that was also excellent in quality and value.

Room Tip: From reading other reviews on this location it seems that they offer some "improved" rooms...

Restaurant on premises was closed. Had to go elsewhere for breakfast. Friendly staff but the motel is generally over promoted. It needs repair work and the rooms need more attention to cleanliness. Price was the most I would pay for this quality. No place to sit when in a motel room, except at edge of gravel parking lot if you could find chairs. Generally speaking, this is an accommodation that is on its last legs without a major investment of upgrade funds. Just no longer competitive with other facilities.

Room Tip: Hard to say. Everything seemed very tired and needing work.

For the price we paid for Suite 1, this was great value...2 bedrooms with private bathrooms attached, lounge area, dining table, small kitchenette. The Inn could use a coat of paint outside and some updating of furnishings, decor etc but this was not crucial to a good night's sleep...which is what my friend and I were looking for en route to Newfoundland.
If you are looking for luxury accommodation, I would not recommend this place...but other than that, it was just fine...and in a great setting with views of the Margaree Forks.
The owner does not have a "bubbly" personality, but was courteous, helpful and efficient in getting us registered etc, I'm sure that if folks are friendly to him, he does his best to be friendly in return!

Room Tip: studio # 1... Like a small cottage! Be sure to adjust temp settings to your liking before going to b...

This was a nice quiet and inexpensive place to start a tour of the Cabot Trail. Room was clean and the heat had been turned on. It is basic, but for the cost and convenience a nice place to stay. It is motorcycle friendly as well! We were probably the first riders on the trail this season.
