Worth the drive from Merritt. Great stop, interesting history in the hotel, great food! Heard about it through my boss. Snuck up and saw one of the period rooms, had a great Raspberry Lemonade in the Saloon. All beef from the local, attached ranch. Would go again in a heartbeat.

Stopped here for lunch during our annual "Girl-Cation!" It was the first time any of us had been here. A quaint piece of history, tucked away by Nicola Lake - just gorgeous!
The server (I wish I could remember her name) was amazing - so friendly and attentive - and the food was DELICIOUS! I recommend the Rueben :)
All in all, a great experience. I told my mom about it and she took her friend there for dinner - they LOVED it!
So stop - don't just drive by - you will be glad you did.

We stopped for a late lunch after driving through the Douglas Lake Ranch back road from Westwold (a really fun drive and great scenery as well) and ate in the "saloon" bar. Superb food and it was like stepping back in time to wild west days. Lots of old cowboy memorabilia, pictures and even bullet holes in the bar. Very worthwhile stop on this quiet drive.

We stopped here just for lunch. There are two options - a restaurant in the hotel & one in the golf club house. We went to the club house so we could sit outside on the veranda. The food was good - between our group we covered most items on the menu & everyone was pleased with their order. The pulled pork sandwich is good & the steak sandwich came with a large 8oz portion inside. The waitress mentioned that all the meat comes from the ranch! The home fries were really good. Drink options were a little disappointing with only 2 types of beer being on tap & both being Bud Overall an awesome setting for a very satisfying lunch ... & there's a little pebbly beach less than a 5 minute drive away (just past the church).

Stopped off for lunch here with family who were local and hosting us around the area. \very nice looking building that has history and is part of a larger business holding including ranching. The entrance to the restaurant part is just as you would expect from watching a lot western type films with lots a beautiful timber finishes. The room we were sat in at the front of the hotel was very nice with good quality linen. The portion sizes were very generous so much so the soup and sandwich combination was left unfinished. The rest of us struggled to finish our meals. The steak sandwich was packed full of meat, the burger with bacon was delicious and the veggie wrap met expectations in terms of flavour and texture. Just had water with the meal and finished with coffee. Strolled through to look into the bar and found a wonderful room with pictures of old and the bullet holes still present in the bar. All in all a good place to stop as they also do rooms.
