“A real gem”
Reviewed 1 January 2014

My first visit to The Oman but with extensive travelling throughout the Gulf. What a wonderful new experience. Such lovely friendly people , smiles everywhere .
The Sifawy is quite a long drive from the airport , just over an hour, but on arrival the drive is worth every minute.
Spectacularly clean and most welcoming of staff, quickly taken to my room without any quibble of arriving a couple of hours early.
A very large room overlooking the pool but with every comfort, everything one would expect and more, even down to an expresso machine.
The word boutique , is absolutely spot on . small but lots of space around a pool with interesting contours.
The hotel fronts onto a private marina to pick up various boat trips either as a taxi to Muscat or dolphin watching.
400 meters away is a private sandy beach, for those not wanting to walk off the breakfast calories , there is a ready golf cart to transport you.
The restaurant is very eclectic but the breakfast is all anyone could wish for, a buffet of fresh fruits , yoghurts, pastries, wide range of hot dishes including a chef to cook eggs in any fashion.
As I said everyone smiles, the staff are treasures are constantly attentive. The restaurant manager, Ram, deserves a special mention , appears to be ever present and runs a very happy and attentive team.
Just along the beach , 15 minute walk or free ride , is a special fish restaurant part of the hotel, very relaxed open onto the sandy beach serving locally caught fish and lobsters . Very simple but relaxed and with the sea washing up a stone throw away.
I would recommend this hotel highly, probably better to hire a car unless you want to relax and enjoy being very well looked after and gently strolling around the marina and down to the private beach.
The hotel manager was ever present and she was always to be seen walking around the public areas talking to the guests. The clientele were very mixed, from Italy , France , Germany , Holland and local Omanis. A very balanced cohort which made the opportunity of meeting differing nationalities an added bonus in this very friendly location.
i would certainly go back without hesitation.

With guests visiting for Christmas the pressure was on to find somewhere lush for us all to stay that didn't bash the credit card too badly! That can be a challenge in Oman at this time of year! We knew the Sifawy Boutique Hotel from a previous visit (and its on one of our most favourite beaches) but we hit on the idea of renting one the apartments adjacent to the hotel and thought we would give it a try. We would have needed three rooms so a three bed apartment seemed to tick all the boxes and saved us a shed load.
We checked in to apartment 304 in Marine Block 9, spitting distance from the hotel itself. It was classed as an executive 3 bed with roof terrace and it was HUGE! Two bedrooms were king beds (one ensuite) and both had marina views with balconies. The third bedroom was a decent sized twin. It was fully equipped and fixtures and fittings were high quality. There was a shaded outside terraced area with seating and the top floor terrace was amazing, complete with bar area! What a place to have a party!
The apartments are not owned by the hotel but have their own management company who are based at the marina. They were most courteous and helpful at every point of contact. I gather they have 15 apartments at the marina of various sizes. We booked through booking.com. We were given vouchers to use the hotel pool (freezing, be warned!) and our rate included the hotels buffet breakfast which was excellent. The management company booked us a table in the Al Sabla hotel resteraunt on Christmas Day night, where we had a magical meal in quiet surroundings.
Would definitely recommend renting an apartment if you are a bigger party that would otherwise need multiple hotel rooms. A beautiful location, we will definitely return but stay longer next time!

Room Tip: We had apartment 304 Marine Block 9 which was close to the hotel. The apartment entrance is up a few...

We enjoyed our one night here very much and will definitely return. The view from our suite was gorgeous, the suite itself very well appointed and comfortable. The staff were friendly and professional and the food in the restaurant by the pool was very good. We enjoyed walking along the seawall and then took a very long stroll down the beach from teh village down the road. It's not a place to see the sights, but to relax and unwind. It was virtually empty when we were there (23 December) which gave it a slightly sad feel, but meant of course that we got excellent service and attention. Also they gave us an excellent rate because we booked last minute, which was much appreciated.

I cannot think of a bad word or criticism about this beautiful hotel & its wonderfully thoughtful & considerate staff. The location is slightly remote but a perfect place to get away from it all. Stunning mountain scenery & to my great delight you can often see turtles swimming in the marina. I spent a week lay on a beautiful beach in a hammock while a sweet chap from the hotel kept bringing me fresh watermelon & pineapple. I would particularly like to mention the receptionist called Hisham who saved me in my hour of need as there is no pharmacy nearby! He was incredibly thoughtful & discreet. I will definitely be recommending the resort & hotel and I hope to visit again very soon.

We stayed for a week in November, hotel was lovely. We were travelling with a baby & staff were helpful. The hotel & is quite remote so trips away can involved big distances. Scuba diving wasn't available at the resort at the time of our visit, but we had good diving close to Muscat around 40 mins from the hotel.

The Sifawy Hotel is an hour away from the airport. The taxi driver wasn't happy for the last 15 mins because of the roads which were through a couple villages, single lane, and then dirt road. Next time we'll take the hotel transport which turned out, at OR35, to be exactly the same price as the taxi. The hotel is lovely and not busy. We had the gym to ourselves each day, there weren't many people at the pool. There is a restaurant 1km away but we were happy to eat at the hotel restaurant. There are boat excursions eg dolphin watching or sunset cruise at OR15 each. There is a beach but you'd want footwear to get over the shells. There is free wifi which is perfect. The staff are lovely. I'd definitely stay here again.
