Stayed one night 1st June, as we travelled to Italy. Some reviewers state it was a difficult place to find but we didn't have this problem. Just off the main Autoroute, not far from Vimy Ridge. First impressions - very pink! Rooms basic but great shower, bright rooms (pink of course) very cheery. Bed fresh and comfy. Plenty of parking and outdoor green space to sit and have a drink. Had evening dinner which was really excellent, and a bottle of the local wine. One staff member seemed to do everything, check in/out, bar man, waiter and chef. He made a first class job, did not panic and was cheerful and efficient. Breakfast was simple but ok, all self service with the usual week tea! We had a problem with lost passports after we checked out but returned to the hotel to sort out our problem. They were very sympathetic and offer free drinks whilst we decided what we should do. Very pleased with this hotel, very reasonable rates and efficient helpful staff.

By North American standards, this would be classified as a Motel rather than a Hote as it is located just off the autoroute and within 20 minutes of Vimy Ridge and 40 minutes to Lille. Rooms and bathrooms are clean and basic and have soundproofed windows to cut out the noise from the autoroute if in a room facing the autoroute.
There are no restaurants or bars close by so you need to drive to Arras if you didn't want to drink or eat dinner at the hotel.
The food at the restaurant is OK but the night we were there, there was only one staff member on duty to look after reception, the bar, wait on tables and above ALL, function as chef.
Lucky for us that there was only one other couple dining that night but other guests were forced to go elsewhere to eat.
Not a good sign if had a long drive to get to the hotel.

We shopped around for a good deal in Arras as we just wanted somewhere clean and affordable to crash for the night before returning to Paris the next morning. The place around the corner was identical and a complete rip-off but this hotel fitted our bill. The hotel restaurant was closed but reception gave us very good advice to eat dinner at Cafe Leffe in the nearby town square at Arras. It was a sunny late Sunday afternoon and buoyant and busy atmosphere in the town square. Back at the hotel there was free Wifi, always a bonus. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Room Tip: We were given a nice room on the ground floor with lawn outside the window.

Stayed for 2 nights 8th &9th June - just off a main road on the outskirts of Arras. Standard box-type hotel, clean, beds surprisingly comfortable, clean & reasonably priced. Breakfast E9.5 seemed a bit pricey, but it was good. Easy access to Arras centre once you knew the way.

This hotel is very clean and the decor is pleasant. The room was a decent size and very quiet despite being located near a busy road. However, the matress was very hard ( I've slept better on a 'premiere class' hotel bed), the shower wasn't very powerful and the breakfast was 9 euros per person so we made our own coffee in the room with the kettle provided. They really should reduce the price of the breakfast if they want to be competitve with other low cost hotels.
La Belle Etoile V Premiere class ? I'm afraid 'Première class' would win. Even if the rooms are smaller and less pleasant the beds are more confortable, the shower has power and the buffet breakfast is half the price.....
