We did a timeshare swap via Interval International but no indication that this is an Italian Resort with all activities and excursions in Italian . The Italian Chef is fantastic it is an all inclusive resort food-wise and well worth $40 per day. The evening " Caberet " is like a 1950's British holiday camp only louder and in Italian .Secure tropical gardens are well maintained and the accomodation in thatched huts adequate ( no TV , phone , kitchen )
The beach is white sand with safe swimming and lots of local boats catering for snorkelling , dolphin watching and fishing but huge number of " beach boys " constantly pestering tourists to take boat trips and buy trinkets .
Local village is dirt poor ,pestering there too with drug vendors in evidence it is a no-go area after dark . Trip to Gede museum/ruins nearby was interesting but didnt go on a safari as too far for a day trip .Trinket stalls /shacks on beach good fun as they like to barter and all have shop names like "Harrods " , Tesco ,M&S quality of goods poor but its good to support the local people by buying .
