“A walk on the wild side”
Reviewed 14 August 2014

The creek is beautifully preserved.
The walk 260m on the suspended bridge to the bird hide is really as the locals call it "indiana jones". It was thrilling and a bit dangerous, as the bridge is very shaky, and parts are broken.
The ride back to the shore on the local boats made of out shelled out boabab trees is worth the extra cost, as the drivers sing local songs and make the ride enjoyable.

“Very interesting and good day out”
Reviewed 10 August 2014 via mobile

We went here with a company named Pathway Safari's, located near the centre of Malindi. They offer good services and arrange everything perfectly for you. At Mida Creek itself there is a local guide named Hassan. He has a great passion about the mangrove forrest and will tell you (in Dutch too if you want to!) with a lot of enthusiasm about everything you want to know. During the day you walk the hanging bridge, take a canoe ride, walk between the mangrove and catch some crabs for closer inspection and some great explanations from Hassan. The day ends with a nice seafood lunch, some rice and the most delicious coconut sauce you have ever tasted.
This place is great to go to and it is much needed that some tourist visit here. Everything Hassan knows is self-taught by reading books and going on trips with local college-students. The locals make some bracelets that are nice to buy to support the community over here. We didn't even bother about haggling the $2 price for a bracelet down. All together, it's really worth it to go here and the people appreciate it so much if you do.
