Mida Creek can be visited as part of a sundowner cruise on a Dhow. Alternatively it is just a few minutes’ drive from Watamu.
We took the excellent Dabaso Conservation Group's boardwalk through the mangrove swamp and loved watching the Herons and Pied Kingfishers as we enjoyed the sundowners and fresh crab samosas. Other simple dishes (fresh fish or chicken) are also available at this relaxed and unpretentious setting. This short excursion is a lovely way to end the day / start the evening.
This area is well known for its birding - apparently you can see 7 endemic species nearby - I will definitely be revisiting!
