Right on the beach with a great terrace restaurant overlooking Turtle Bay serving good food and very reasonable prices. The staff are very friendly and make you fell very welcome as well as being very efficient. Florian is a talented chef and produces great food some of which comes from his own kitchen garden. Hotel has great character and the feel of Africa of days gone by. Sports fishing, surf boards etc are all available. Highly Recommended.

I last stayed here in the early 1990s; I loved it then, and still do. The staff is warm and helpful, the views are beautiful, the food is excellent, and it is very easy to arrange a host of varied activities.

Enjoyed a lovely lunch after a diving excursion, out to a local reef, great views, lovely friendly staff. Reception staff very helpful in organizing a tuk-tuk for me to go from there to the far end of the beach for kite surving.

We spent a week at Ocean Sports in early April to celebrate a wedding (not ours!). Owing to a few problems with our flights we were 24 hours late, but the warm welcome from Emilie and her staff together with the cold passion fruit juice on arrival helped us to forget the trouble we had had getting there. Overall, the staff were very fiendly and helpful, the view from our room (No 21) amazing and the food was really good. It was a great place to unwind and relax. The wedding was pretty good too! (Although Ocean Sports doesn't normally host weddings, they managed this one with aplomb.) We will definitely be coming back.

Room Tip: No 21 has a great view

And the one but is - the manky crap on the beach. I know some of it's natural (the seasonal seaweed) and some of it's not (innumerable plastic bottle and the over 200 shoes we colleacted in 4 days) and none of it is the fault of the OS management BUT surely the ROI on an annual cleanup with a tractor and a rake would be worth it.

Thanks so much for the review, we are only sorry that you came at a time when the beach is not at it's best. The Kenya Wildlife Service does not permit the removal of the seaweed from the beach, or any other natural debris, hens we are unable to clear it. Unfortunately the current during the time you were with us does bring a lot of rubbish onto the beach. Private beach cleanups are organized but we will try and see if more can be done. Hopefully you can visit us again between November and March when the beach is beautiful and spotless! Thanks again for the review and look forward to welcoming you back to Ocean Sports.

We enjoyed 5 nights relaxing here after a hectic but amazing safari experience! When we arrived at Ocean Sports we were warmly welcomed and felt at home straight away! Our room was very comfortable with a lovely outlook. Room 21, I would recommend asking for it as others had less space and lacked our view. We had half board accommodation but if I did it again I'd just go for bed and breakfast and go a la carte in the evening as the price wouldn't be that much more.
We found the staff very friendly, but service was slow, so you wouldn't want to be in a hurry!
It was fantastic to be able to swim in the sea right outside the hotel. As the name suggests any amount of sports are available and it would be a good place to learn to dive as the pool is deep enough for the initial experience. There is lots to see and do nearby, a beautiful natural forest, a marine reserve with boat trips to view dolphins and I'd definitely recommend a visit to Watamu Turtle Watch/ Local Ocean Trust. We enjoyed our visit! Many thanks to Africa Born for including this stop in our Kenyan experience!

Room Tip: Room 21 was great, spacious with plenty power points and a good outlook.

A group of friends and I visited in March for a fishing trip. Two of us had stayed at Hemmingway's before but we were persuaded to give Ocean Sports a try. I have to say it was a great recommendation and we were glad we tried it.

At our arrival we were greeted by Florient and his team and quenched our thirst with a welcome fruit cocktail. We spent the first night in the Hotel complex and everything was clean and well air conditioned.

We opted to move into the Beach House for the remainder of our trip and although rustic it was again spotless and well air conditioned. The room service was flawless and we found the cleaning team to be effective, reliable and honest.

We ate at the restaurant every night and also some lunches and breakfasts. We found the food superb and fresh at all times. This was a mixture of seafood and other. The highlight was our last lunch of Ginger Crab. We highly recommend it. I am from a coastal town in South Africa and have not had better. We have to make special mention of our waiter Hare and chef King Charles who were superb in the way they treated and fussed over us.

The fishing was fair and we were always kept well fed and hydrated by the resort boat packs.
The bill fish eluded us but we were lucky enough to witness the second Grander Blue Marlin caught close to us.

Well done to Florient and your team, we are already planning our return.
