My husband stepped out of bed to go to the bathroom, and crunch. He stepped on a cockroach. If that were the end of it, I could get over it- but after one popped out of our luggage, there's no redemption. And no, we DID NOT have food in our bags. Nicer places on the island for same price. Don't stay here.

This place is simple, we stayed in beach 8, one of their simpler bungalows, for B800. The room was simple but big, broken stuff in the room, but the grounds were clean, the price was right, the staff was good, and the location was great- a little crescent beach right across the street with decent swimming, a couple nice restaurants too (pasai beach restaurant was cheap and had great thai food).

If they fixed a couple things in the room (shower head and Tv) and sealed up the holes in the floor (we didn't have any mosquitoes inside but I imagine mosquito season would be rough) this place would be perfect. But it's still pretty great as is.

We rented two bungalows. The one with a/c was nice, clean and large. The bathroom was okay but shower was little more than a hose with luke-warm water. The fan bungalow had mold and no mosquito nets (no screens for the window either). When we complained,me were given a mosquito coil. Luckily, we had a strong breeze while we were there. We rented bikes down the way for much cheaper than the front desk offered. We did not eat here. The beach restaurant across the street was great.

We stayed here while on a 3 day kayak trip in Phang Nga Bay with Paddle Asia. Basic Bungalows, but cleverly built and modernised, with local materials. Air conditioned and comfortable, but no TV in English, but if you are out kayaking all day you are ready to sleep after dinner. Breakfasts good and quite adequate, served by friendly staff. Just over the road from a nice beach and outdoor eateries.

We originally booked two nights in an air-con bungalow and kept extending our stay (mainly due to loving the quiet island). We ended up staying for six nights and for us it was the perfect island getaway. It was low season when we stayed so there was maintenance going on during the day and the restaurant and bar were closed and the place did have a very low-key feel to it. So it's a great place if you like to keep things simple. We did have to ask for our room to be cleaned but it was done to a good standard once cleaned. The bathroom does have an outdoor feel to it and there's an open window which we covered using cotton material (to limit any possible bugs coming in) but it wasn't a big problem for us. Overall it's really the location that makes this place fabulous and we would definitely go back again.
