we found kian bay during one of our longtailboat trips in the north of koh yao noi. the small beach is located in a breathtaking bay at the northcoast of the island and maybe 70 meters long. the water is crystalclear and emeraldgreen. we arrived at kian bay around noon and we had the beach for us alone...so it seems at the beginning. we left our longtailboat and as we arrived on the fine sandy beach we heard the loud and shrill noises of saws and electrical tools, which were powered by a generator. short time later, we saw that in the jungle, a huge open-air restaurant is constructed, because not far away from kian bay the djungle hides a big secret. not 5 minutes away from kian bay is the legendary "big tree" is growing since decades, which is a sensation without question. the scope of his tribal is huge and its appearance in the jungle is very impressive. probably the restaurant will be ready very soon ready and then thousands of tourists from phuket and ao nang will fall in masses over the small bay. it is a pitty what will happened with that beautiful magic and lonely place in the near future, we were happy to be there just in time.
