I have been a few times for a walk around the reservoir it's beautiful at all times of the year. Be prepared to get your feet wet in the winter as if you do a circuit you have to cross a stream to get back to the car park it's only an issue when there is more water. I agree with others that some dog walkers could show a little more respect for others by keeping the dogs on leads at all times and picking up dog mess. You can spend as much or little time as you want exploring the place. Defiantly take your own picnic and beware no toilets but the village isn't too far away.

A great place to go if you want crowds of people and plenty of litter. Most of Teesside descends on the place!

Good and well laid out paths around the area. There is limited parking and now no parking on the verges (tickets can be issued if you're unlucky). There are no amenities so bring your own sarnies and flask and take your rubbish home again. Most dog walkers pick up after their pooches which is good.

Excellent scenery and a very good walk its not too hard so well worth doing it. Considering going back in summer weather to do more walks around that area.
