We stayed here for one night and were made to feel comfortable from the moment we walked through the door. We were shown to our room which was spacious, comfortable, clean and welcoming. We made our way down for dinner and were served delicious home cooked food. The owner couldn't have been more accommodating and friendly, and even took time out to engage with our five year old! Breakfast was five star! Overall a fantastic stay and we'll definitely be back and have already recommended it to friends and family.

Had dinner at this pub eatery as the only place in the area available one evening. Lucky for us. Real ales. Food decent (great pie filling - but not a fan of a- on 'wig' puff pastry tops !), good veg. Russian and Latvian staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Landlord clearly understands what the mass public want from a pub. Keeps good beer, reasonably priced food. keeps the old slightly decadent furniture and a friendly manner. A relaxing experience. Will visit again.

Myself and my family stayed at the Lutwidge Arms on August Bank Holiday weekend and it was a fantastic weekend from start to finish,,,despite the weather, which the Lutwidge obviously have no control of.
They accomodated my Grandma and Grandads requirements giving them a room in the annex building directly next to the hotel, all of it on ground level and the rooms furnished and decorated to a very high standard.
The main buiding has also been refurbished to a high standard and even the single rooms offering everything you need for a comfortable stay.
We did have to wait for the meals but being in a party of 7 this is to be expected and when the food arrived it was definitely worth the wait - the quality and portion sizes were of a top class restaurant standard and is fantastic value for money. During our stay it was my grandads birthday and the hotel were only happy to hold the birthday cake, present it after our meal and then store it for us until our departure.
I cannot speak highly enough of our stay from arival to depature and we wil definitely be returning in the future.
A little niggle was just the lack of seating in the bar area after we had finished our meal but this only again speaks of its popularity with locals as well as hotel patrons.

The B and B recommended here, we walked in and when we asked if they were still serving food, the lady behind the bar said they were but there would be a least an hours wait, as they had just had an order for 6....? that was it, one family in the pub....no-one else apart from one gentleman sat at the bar, local, who recommended another pub, the Ratty Arms, back in Ravensglass. With that we left... she didnt seem at all bothered to keep us.

It is unfortunate that the reviewer did not stay and sample our food as we appreciate comments from regular contributing reviewers. On the night in question, we already had an advance booking for a large function in the Restaurant who were arriving imminently. We would rather be up front with customers and tell them straight if there are likely to be long delays in serving them food which is freshly cooked. I would always reccommend ringing to book a table which if this reviewer had done, we would have told them the situation and they would have been able to choose a mutually suitable booking time with us, which would have enabled them to make a more informed choice to satisfy their needs.

We happened across the restaurant last year and liked it so we came back twice this year and both times we have been delighted. One of our party rates the fillet steak the best she has had anywhere. The extensive choice is written on boards and has enough choice to eat there regularly. The lady who ran front of house was very friendly and helpful. I'd recommend giving it a try.

Everything was excellent, very friendly staff throughout the stay, fantastic location, we had a family room which was described as a small family room on booking, when we arrived and were shown up to an attic room i was abit worried it would be tiny but it was huge! the facilities in the room were 5* amazing and spotlessly clean with a lovely view if the river, breakfast choice was vast lots if choice, cereal, friut juice, full cooked breakfast which was cooked to order, Can't find any faults at all with this hotel would definitely recommend and stay here again !

When we phoned to say we were running late they kept the kitchen open for a home cooked meal after such a long journey. A god send when travelling with kids. Lovely food, Great location. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The hotel bar has a great friendly atmosphere with locals using it as well (always a good sign). Family room was very comfortable. Day 2 and Jake had the trout and has never seen as big a fish in his life! We will be back!
