Lovely welcome, despite my appalling French. Room was at the back of the block, on the ground floor and despite being close to a busy road was surprisingly quiet. The room was spotlessly clean with a very comfortable bed. Dinner in the restaurant was acceptable and reasonably priced (we weren't expecting fine dining so weren't disappointed!) Breakfast is pricey for what it is. Compared to the Travelodge in Ashford this was pure luxury! The hotel is very handy for the Carrefour and shopping centre. Would definitely use it again as an overnight stop.

The hotel was easy find which always a start, it's on an large shopping estate with many food outlets in walking distance from the hotel. Check in was quick & easy as we had reservations. the room was across the car park from reception in a two storey complex similar to the American motels. The room was clean with all you need for a nights sleep a bit tired but everything worked. You had tea & coffee making & kettle for 1 drink. There was a restaurant in the reception building but not much choice. Breakfast here is also very expensive at 9.5 Euros each. There are other food outlets within walking distance. i.e. KFC, a Bernie inn type restaurant & a burger joint like Burger King called Quick. there is safe parking with a gate closed at midnight. There was a television in the room with one English channel BBC World. For 1 night it was good value for money. The surroundings are nothing special but there are lots of shops to wonder round & they are open till 8.

Room Tip: All rooms have views over the industrial estate

We have used this hotel several times as an overnight stop and it fits the bill well. Rooms are clean with functional bathrooms and tea and coffee facilities. Something you don't get in many French hotels. The on site restaurant is also useful for a single overnighter when you just want to break your journey and not stray too far. The food is good and reasonably priced in the evening although breakfast is pricy for what it is. The staff are pleasant and there is usually an English speaker on duty. The website mentions a secure car park but we have never seen the rolling gate closed. In fact I think it is rusted open. The hotel is in a quiet area however and there has never been any problems during our stay.

I made a reservation for this hotel with a special remark that I would arrive late and asked to reply if that would be a problem. When I arrived early in the night, I couldn't check in. Also the automatic checkin failed with the information that was provided. Result was that I had to leave home during the night. When I took up contact about this issue, the hotel answered that they had leaved a note on the door and they tried to phone me. I didn't notice the note and there was no missed call or voice mail on my phone either. At the end the hotel charged the room still to my account and refund wasn't possible, because the hotel was fully booked. That's why I also couldn't check in on another room for the night. Campanile left their guest (me) though to pay for the misunderstanding and miscommunication. Bad and dissappointing service and losing a future guest forever!!

What more is there to say really. We tend to use these for overnight stops on trips through France and they are all of a standard formula which makes them predictable, which is good if you don't want to seek anything special and they are easily accessible from the major routes. They also do a reasonable meal which makes the stopover doubly good as you don't have to go off into the town to hunt down a restaurant. The food here was very well served and as usual my wife went for the starter and pudding selection menu, which means she can select vegetarian options, though there was a vegetarian option on the menu. Both of us were happy with the meal and the staff were helpful and pleasant. For a variety of reasons this was our first trip to France for a few years and the only change we noticed from previous Campanile stopovers was a reduction in the number of towels available, just the one bath towel each. It won't stop us using them again in the future as they remain our preferred "budget" chain.

I have used this hotel as an overnight stop. The location is very convient for city tour and shopping: close to the center, the main train station and the motorway. The standard is here typical for Campanile's hotels: good 2* rooms, fresh, clean, basic but comfortable for short therm stay. Free Wifi. The welcome at the front desk was perfect and staff were very nice and helpful. Check-in/-out fast and simple. The breakfast was also typical in most french hotels with a limited variety of choices, but tasty.
