Campanile Epernay - Dizy

Good location close to Epernay in a pretty quiet neighborhood (despite a close main road), the room was clean with the room and bathroom basics. The bathroom was clean.
The bed was firm and comfortable. Overall the stay was just good enough to sleep correctly.
The breakfast was quite surprising with a pretty garnished food selection and the service was nice and professional.

Room Tip: The room 006 is pretty dark inside during the day given it is located in the building corner under s...

I stayed at the Campanile , Dizy, with a friend on a Champagne buying trip in early June. It is easy to find and convenient for Epernay and local wine routes. Car parking is free and outside the room It is however comparatively expensive and having stayed there a number of times over the years it was apparent that during that time little had been spent on the structure, the furnishings or the linen all of which are now rather tired. The tea making facilities are vestigial (paper cups) and the bathroom barely equipped (just 1 towel). Only 1 pillow was supplied and the management was unable to provide extras. No english was spoken by staff on reception on our arrival. We found it poor value for money and would not recommend it.

Located next to a roundabout you would think that traffic could be disturbing. That is not the case. The hotel chain offers cheap rooms at low quality. The building is a simple construction, where you feel like you live in a bee hive. Insulation is an unknown word. However, if you are only looking for a bed and a warm room this is an ok place to choose. At the price, however, I have stayed at far better places than this, - check for instance some of the Logis de France alternatives. Campanile have a restaurant next door if the only thing you need is calories. As for an exciting menu go somewhere else.

Off skiing to the Alps and needed a halfwayhouse. Efficient check in and got a chance to dust off my c s e grade 3 French. Booked a meal of limited choice but actually very good, while the house wine was better than the £5 dribble you can buy from Tesco. Room small but warm and functional, free parking and a le clerc next door to stock up on lunch and breakfast for the trip ahead. As an aside how come diesel is 30% cheaper than the UK....!

Pre-booked one night at this hotel, wished we hadn't. If it had not been pre-booked would definitely not have stayed. did not even bother to have breakfast, was glad to get away. The room was small, dark and dingy. with beetles crawling out from underneath the skirting boards

Good place to stay when visiting the region. Rooms are OK (good price/quality rate), break-fast is good. Location is near to the main roads so good to start your trip. I would book again when visiting the region.

this place is dull and charmless - though, to be fair, it is no more (or less) than it presumably claims to be - a comparatively recently purpose-built unit to the formula of a large group, more suited to the needs of itinerant businessman seeking utility and predictability plus an easy get-away on to the road network next morning. It is located at the edge of Epernay (about 10 minutes by car to the centre) in the "wild-west" semi indusrtial area now so prevalent at the edge of so many larger French towns - though, in this case, some vines do edge nervously towards the building. The "restaurant" was closing when we arrived (about 2230) and we declined breakfast. The room (accessed via an semi-exposed external gallery) with en-suite bath was small but seemed clean and entirely "fit for purpose", but once the shutter had been wound down (no curtains) it felt rather like being shut up in in a cardboard cocoon (or coffin ?). We paid 75€ for the one night - which perhaps reflects the going rate in the busy Champagne region rather then the delights of this place. For a cheaper and yet similarly boringly predictable stop, try the Formule 1 chain.

Room Tip: suggest ground floor to avoid lugging suitcases up stairs though avoid rooms facing carpark. Prefer...
