What a hidden gem! Whilst it seems expensive to go in, when you find out how the place is run and it’s history you’ll appreciate it that bit more.

Stunning gardens - a visit to the sunken garden is an absolute must!

Sharon, our guide, was full of interesting information about the property and more than happy to answer any questions.

Super property - would definitely recommend

Visited yesterday, Castlle was brilliant Mike verygood.unfortunately the cafe let it down. We arrived at the cafe alongside a coach party and slotted in the middle, it took an hour to get to the till to order and then if you wanted to omit something like salad with the roll they couldn't understand that so food was wssted.

Have been meaning to go for years, finally made it, well worth it. Possibly a little high on entrance charge but I knew beforehand the price, the gardens are simply stunning, some a bit wild, water features, lots of benches. Had a ploughmans in the cafe, bit expensive but nice, they were busy but managed ok, went for the guided tour of the castle, unfortunately the guide was off sick, can't be helped, in all truthfulness not overly imoressed, only took half an hour. However a beautiful place, will go again perhaps in the Spring.

This is a visit that will take hours. The gardens are beautiful to roam. You have a guided tour of parts of the castle which is very old. Susan was our guide and it was just my husband and I so we had a private tour. Susan was very knowledgeable and also very comical with some of the commentary, loved it. It was sad to hear of some of the history and the dismantling of the goods in the castle by Lord Hereford when money was needed, and allowing the castle to fall in such disarray. Glad to see someone provided the love it needed to return to it's present state.
