Had a great week at Dagley Cottage. Very clean and comfortable. Nice food tray left to get us started. Made the most of our National Trust membership whilst we were there. Would recommend
Close both to Guildford and the Surrey Hills. Excellent Gastro Pub nearby (The Seahouse) includes good vegan menu. Close to parade of shops including friendly cafe for breakfast and lunch (The Snooty Fox) - 5 mins walk. The cottage is cosy, comfortable and surprisingly spacious. Only faults were the sitting room door sometimes sticks, and lack of space to put things in the bathroom - otherwise excellent.
During a period of very cold weather we were warm and comfortable in this cottage which looks out over Shalford common. It has a tastefully decorated long living room with a kitchen at the other end. The bedroom overlooks the garden of the host property and is quiet at night, with a comfortable bed. The bathroom is OK and works well, but there is nowhere to put anything down. The window sill is narrow as are the edges of the bath and there is no room for other furniture. I suggested some shelves on the entrance wall would solve this issue and make the room easier to use. There are generous mirrors in each room and the lighting is also good.
Daley Cottage is perfectly located, with three pubs, a village stores, the local station and great countryside paths all within short walking distances of the front door. Guildford itself is barely two miles north, and you can easily walk there, passing by the picturesque water meadows. The cottage is furnished for comfort, and we were snug and warm despite the usual chilly January weather. Logs were provided for an open fire, but the heating system was more than adequate. The kitchen was well equipped for whipping up some delicious meals, and Joanna had kindly provided some essential groceries for our arrival. These were well appreciated, as we arrived after the shops had shut on a Sunday. I would definitely recommend this beautiful cottage for a stress free holiday.
Great host, very comfortable accommodation and excellent facilities. Close to Guildford which has excellent shopping and train connections to London
This was a lovely cottage - just perfect. Really well arranged, stylish and kitted out with everything you might need - perfect for self catering. Very importantly the cottage was warm and cosy - we visited in November. People have mentioned issues with the oven but it was no problem at all and works excellently - we were impressed with it.
Perfect for two, fine for family with young kids like ours. Very convenient location. Very nice landlords.
