Lovely spot for a stop. There are cows around, but we only heard the bells. Worth the few kilometers out of your way if you're in the area.

What a beautiful place this is, driving up the winding road avoiding the cows with their traditional bells meandering across in front of you and so worth the drive when you reach the top.....loved the view point with the markings to enable you to see where different places are located. Asturias is a truly stunning part of Spain.

We drove here from Ribadesella which is approximately 13 miles away and it took us about 30 minutes. The winding road up is obviously steep but is in good condition so it was quite safe and not a problem. The views are good from the start but just get better and better as you drive higher. When you arrive there are ample car parking spaces and then it is just a short walk up the path to the very top. Here there is an elevated stone staircase with a viewing platform on top. The views of the Picos de Europa mountains and in the other direction down to the sea are stunning. You need to visit on a clear day and wear a jacket as the temperature is definitely cooler due to the altitude. There is a souvenir shop and small bar adjacent to the car park area.

It's definitely worth the 11 kilometer drive up the hill for one of the most spectacular views in Spain. From the tower at the peak you can view a panorama of the Picos de Europa and on the other side you can see down to the beaches along the Costa Verde. Lovely distant views on a clear day.

Great drive up from Arriondas very winding road , only go on a clear day fantastic views when you get to the top.park in the car park and walk the short distance to the observation platform. You can see for miles all along the coast and the snow topped mountains inland certain times of year.

Came across this viewpoint completely by chance but we were so glad we found it. There is a concrete pulpit type structure which allows you see over the treetops an unhindered view with details of the names of mountains etc.

The drive up towards Arriondas from Colunga and the A-64 Oviedo-Bilbao motorway doesn't take much more than 15 minutes to reach the top of the pass but it is quite dramatic with its hairpin bends and precipitous edges. The Mirador (viewpoint) is located at the top (600 metres). Parking is no problem and you can ascend an extra 10 metres using a structure resembling an Olympic swimming pool diving board. The view from there is simply spectacular along the Asturian coast, down into the surrounding valleys and towards the Picos d'Europa.(2650 metres).

Excellent views from up there; plenty of parking, some paths around.
May be quite windy and much cooler than down below, make sure to have something to wear.

Plenty of points to stop off for a photo or walk about - some breath-taking views. It's actually a short cut to Arriandas from that side of the coast, so it's not really a detour.
