Over the years I have been to the Falcon ridge bird of prey centre, many times, and it never disappoints, I love the experience every time. The handler is so knowledgeable and passionate about the birds. It is a great experience for young and old, and has stunning views. The dogs are also very entertaining, as they have relationships with the birds. All and all it is a great experience that one will love every time you go. Just remember that there is only one show a day at 10:30 am, excet on Fridays, be sure not to miss it.

There are no words to describe this experience, and you can't go to this part of the Drakensberg without visiting a Falcon Ridge show

Incredible display of large birds of prey. The entire 'unrehearsed' show is slick and informative. As it is a popular show, take seating or a cushion in the event the chairs provided have already been taken. Also take along a hat and sunscreen as no shade provided. Shows only at certain times.

Incredible display of soaring, heart-stopping beauty. The raptors, trained by the owners to demonstrate their natural domination of the skies is breathtaking to watch. A truly awe inspiring experience

Some birds are caged, others are perched in the open, but the demonstration that Greg and Allison put on is fantastic, educational and fun! One of the birds wasn't cooperating on cue and Greg's sense of humor added another layer to the experience. The bird eventually did - but the bird's willfulness just made you appreciate the training these birds have undergone and the relationship between them and their handlers. The birds fly freely over the valley and swoop down into the audience with dogs chasing after them. Afterwards, guests are allowed to hold one of the birds and Greg and Allison are around to answer questions. It helps, but is not necessary, to bring binoculars, hats and sunscreen. Also, I imagine it would be easier to see on a cloudless day. The kids can sit on the ground upfront and no seat is a bad one.
