We stayed 2 nights at Ardmore. The cottage is big and spacious, but poorly decorated and the bathrooms in poor condition. The deck chairs were dirty. There are no lights (or at least a flashlight offered) at night when one goes to the main house for dinner. Food was below average.

Stayed for three nights at Ardmore in Yellowwood cottage travelled as two couples. The drive to the farm was very bumpy and needs to be driven with care. The cottage has a lounge area and bedrooms are on either side which both have thier own private bathroom which was great, they also have jacuzi bath !, Outside there is a very large terraced area with table and chairs and sun loungers of which we could only use one of as the second sunlounger cushion was dirty. Overall the cottage was very spacious, however, it does need updating, found it to be quite dark and the bedding although clean, ,was well worn and needs replacing. Our towels weren't changed during our three night stay. The fridge was very small and for me wasn't adequate for a family cottage. . Location is beautiful Yellowood Cottage is stated as Mountain view you only see a small part of the mountain so not a full mountain view. Food was plentiful and tasty. Location is beautiful within driving distance to Monks Cowl where there are various beautiful walks you can take. After your walk take a drive to Scrumpy Jacks their Honey Cheesecake is to die for. .

Very relaxed accommodation with wonderful views of the Drakensbergen. The owners are very kind and try to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Breakfast and dinner are good. Plenty to choose from and everything is fresh and healthy. It’s a farm so there are some animals which was nice but, animals smell like animals. So sometimes our room would smell like pigs..

The place is in a magical part of the Drakensburg, the home cooked food is delicious and has the best soup. The chalets are spacious and have a rustic feel with the antique furniture. The only complaint I had was that the chalets were not cleaned well and the bedding needs to be replaced as it is a bit worn. It is very good value for money and we enjoyed our stay.

After a long journey we finally arrived at Ardmore and got friendly welcomed by Sue. She showed us our bungalow and guided us to the dining room since we arrived just on time for dinner. Dinner is a 4 course home cooked meal (buffet). Breakfast was a la carte where you could choose from egg, tomato, bacon and sausages.

We got the bungalow and according to a guest it was quite spacious compared to theirs. They do have some nice lodges for larger families which contains of two floors and a breathtaking view is included.
Our bungalow had a small lounge area with two sofas were you could sit and relax. If you are looking for a 5* accomodation, this wont be the place to be. We were quite annoyed by the flies in the room and especially in the morning they start buzzing around your head. A mosquito net would have definitely given us a better night sleep. One more thing, was that one window didnt have curtains and for light sleepers this can wake you up early in the morning.
The people were very friendly and helpful with tips were to go. We did the Drakensberg canopy tour, which was very fun to do.

Overall, stay was ok and relaxing. They have a lot of activities for childern ranging from swimming pool to pool tables.

Single woman travelling alone can come here with no hesitation. It is safe. You can freely
roam around on the farm. The cottages are spacious. The food is good. The staff friendly.
Lots to do in the surrounding area. You will need your own transport. The Berg is beautiful
any time of year.

Room Tip: Avoid the budget bungalow. The other cottages are fabulous.

This is our first stay and won't be our last. We had a fabulous time staying in Zebra Cottage at the Ardmore. All the staff were helpful but special mention must go to Esme and Paul. The food was excellent and you get breakfast and dinner for a super value price! Thank you to all!
