“Small but Friendly”
Reviewed 13 August 2014

We stayed at the end of July. Our first impressions were not great as the apartment was tiny for two adults + 2 children. Our main bedroom was ample but the kids slept on a bed settee in the living area that would fill the room if you left it up. There was no table, just a shelf that you could say was a low breakfast bar. If you had to eat you had to go on the balcony. We were downstairs so we had no view of anything but it was private and cool. Luckily we were staying half board, but if we were self catering we would have really struggled as there was simply not enough chairs or space for 4 to eat. The restaurant was great. We had an option of three different meals a day that were pretty simple like, burger, pork steak, pasta, pizza, chicken etc. All were plentiful, well cooked and came with chips or canarian potatoes. All the staff were friendly and pleasant and the girl on breakfast worked her heart out. There's cereal and smart price cooked meats on a counter but you can also have English bacon, sausage and egg from the kitchen with toast. The pool was lush and although you had to be up early to guarantee a sunbed this is sadly common in most hotels. We loved our holiday here but it had a few niggly things that could be easily remedied. The room was old battered and to small. There wasn't enough sunbeds if everyone came out. The girl on breakfast couldn't cope alone to cook, wash and top up the counter. Sometimes there were no glasses, cutlery or plates. if you asked she would just shrug and say she was trying her best and she was. Matagorda is much more quiet than it used to be so you will end up getting taxi's into Puerto del carmen to see all the shops and seafront restaurants. But we had a great holiday. The hotel was great for families as that's all that stayed there. Our kids made friends and loved it. We had no issues of noise or groups of teenagers or stag/hen parties that have spoiled other hotels. all in all a great holiday.

We stayed for the Month of March this year in the Guacimeta and we both found it very relaxing. It would have been a totally different story if we were a family with children as the pool was closed for the first week as it was being refurbished, which turned out to be a great job. It isn't geared for kids as I didn't see anything that could keep them entertained. The weather was very windy for the first two weeks but that couldn't be helped. Matagorda is a great relaxing area of Lanzarotte.
We would definitaly go back to the Guacimeta Apts again.

Room Tip: Look for a top floor.

Great little place, but the real star is Dimi the chef, he really is a top guy and a very good chef, stayed half board don't normally do but it was so cheap thought i would give it a go and if not great then could go for food in town, didn't need to worry, he cooked us fresh fish dishes, paella steak, was fantastic like having our own private chef on demand, all the staff are really nice. only gripe was the sun loungers were uncomfy. but would return.

Thanks

We checked in for a week here and loved every second! We were in room 47 which had a balcony and looked over the pool and out to the ocean. Super clean!!! Friendly staff and the best scrambled eggs ever in the morning! Would recommend this to anyone!

Stayed here for one week mid June with my 13 year old daughter. We had the best week together. Rooms were small but plenty space for 2 people and well equipped. Staff were very helpful but not intrusive. Gates were locked at night with night security so we felt very safe. We travelled each evening into Puerto del Carmen centre, approx 6 euros by taxi. The shopping centre nearest these apartments, which also has restaurants etc., was a bit run down looking n not the best so we opted to travel further. Would absolutely return to these apartments, quiet, safe and immaculately clean.

Room Tip: Request 1st floor room.

After reading all the bad reviews i was a bit causious to go to the hotel but guess what these bad reviews are nonsense for people who expect too much the price for the hotel is what you get its an amazing place to stay the cleanliness is 10/10 and the service and people are so nice, the apartments are clean and in good condition i was at number 21 far right the food is good the pool is clean and only 5 min walk to the beach yes its 5 euro by cab but ask the reception to call a taxi and i literally lived off taxi as they were so cheap theres a go karting place not too far and rancho texas! This hotel i would stay again 100% guarunteed!
