It may not be situated in the most idyllic spot in town, but this little restaurant is well worth a visit. Small selection of wines but carefully selected by the French proprietor. Food was very tasty, service personable. Would recommend a meal at El Marinero.

A great find close to the old town & harbour. Open Monday to Friday only. Great traditional French cuisine home cooked. Don't let external appearances put you off!

Wonderful relaxed atmosphere and superb food. Just lovely not to be hassled in from the pavement - a real joy to sit, eat and relax. We had the Canarian set lunch which consisted of a huge salad, canarian potatoes (lots), prawns sizzling in garlic oil, a huge plate of whitebait cooked with a light touch, a plate of a mozzarella style cheese with chutney, warm bread and mojo sauces, 1/2 ltr of wine and a choice of puds. The wine went down so well we had an extra carafe and the oil the prawns were served in demanded extra bread to mop up!
The price for this feast just 38 euros.
We staggered, replete, up the hill, very happy. Best lunch since we have been here.

We visited this Restaurant twice for dinner and once for lunch during our holiday. It is run by a French Family, Mum, Dad and their Son. Very very good value for money. 3 course meal for 8.50 euros, choice of 2 at each course. First visit we had vegetable soup and mixture of cold meats, Chicken with French Fries and a lovely basil sauce, Chicken Casserole with rice, Ice cream and home made Crème Caramel. Second time we both had Tuna Stuffed Eggs, Pork Stew and Beans, a Crème Caramel and Coffee. Good value wines. Our lunch was a selection of French Cheeses, walnuts, bread and a glass of wine for 7.50 euros. This restaurant is a little gem and the family are really nice and friendly. We loved it and will definitely be back.

Although we were staying half board we decided on our last night to come here just for the thrill of having our food brought to us. We both had the menu of the day which consisted of salad, bread, prawns in a garlicky sauce, whitebait, Canarian potatoes, soft cheese and either creme caramel or ice cream. There was also a half litre of house wine included. Undoubtedly the fish came out of the freezer but was no worse for that. The creme caramel seemed to be home made and was very nice and the wine was pretty good for a house wine. It was a quiet night and it was very peaceful sitting eating and drinking.
