This is our second visit to the hotel and we enjoyed a lovely two week holiday. The location is excellent midway between Puerto del Carmen and Matagorda so you can stroll either way. The hotel is immaculately clean, the staff polite, pleasant and helpful, the food was plentiful with a wide variety to suit all tastes. We shall certainly be returning.

Have been going to this hotel for the last 5 years and again this year in september. The staff are friendly, rooms spacious and cleaned daily with fresh towels and bedding most days.
Location is excellent for all ameneties and nightlife. We always rent the fridge and safe it's norm in these spanish hotels, but we always take a travel kettle for our coffee. The pool area and service is great and the dining room and reception staff have been the same more or less for the last few years and it's like going home to friends when we get there.
We look forward to our stay again in september for two weeks.

Recently returned from a week at the San Antonio having been initially concerned about some negative reports notably about the staff and the food. Needn't have worried. There were no problems with the hotel and there were absolutely no complaints.
The staff were efficient and some were even quite jolly. The food was more than acceptable and the entertainment organiser worked really hard. The cleaning staff did a good job and there was even Sky Sports! O.K. it was a bit tight to ask for payment just to access the mini bar even before using the contents. There was a simple answer - ignore it. Fortunately it was not too hot (the centrally controlled air con was not turned on) and we just kept the bottled water, bought from one of the local Supermarkets (Spar or Netto), in the bathroom.

The hotel was well situated to walk in one direction to Puerto del Carmen and in the other to Pocillos and Matagorda. It was not the hotel's fault that drainage works meant the buses could not stop outside the hotel (evidently this work will go onto May causing a long detour if you wish to drive to Matagorde). Hired a car through the hotel but be warned the company used does not bring the car to you, they take you about 6 miles to their depot in Matagorde, although at least at the end you just hand in the keys at reception. Paid in cash and did not have to leave a deposit.

It was also not the hotel's fault that the Thomas Cook rep was useless and did not keep to advertised visiting times.

All in all a most pleasant week's holiday.

This hotel is based right on the beach at the begininning of Puerto Del Carman (not the old town). Cannot fault the food, buffett breakfast anything from bacon and eggs to natural yoghurt and pastries also buffett dinner plenty of choice for all diets. Each day there is a speacial eg one day will be chinese, other Italian. Plenty of sunbeds everyday with 2 pool and a childs pool. Plenty of activities everyday. Would definately go back to this hotel and resort.

We booked a last minute deal to this hotel for the recent Easter break and it was one of the best hotels I have stayed in. The hotel was immaculately clean everywhere, the rooms were a little dated but well maintained and they have kept up with the latest technology ie automatic taps, modern lift etc. The food was varied each night and there was so much to choose from that we ate like kings. The restaurant was a good size so you could relax without feeling like the table was needed for the next person. The staff all went about their work quietly and there was always somebody around if you needed something. Yeah ok the receptionist was a little short but after reading the reviews we expected it and we only spoke to her once. The other receptionists were very accommodating and spoke good english. The hotel is spacious and level with several areas to sit and there were loads of sunbeds to choose from. We also watched the birds flying in and out of the stone bridge between the pools and the planes coming in. The planes were near but not so much that they interfered with the holiday at all. It was something to watch and they generally come and go in threes. The pool attendants would tidy the beds at the end of the day and one is especially easy on the eye!! Didnt speak a word of english though. The hotel was on the beach which was rocky but only a few hundred yards was a sandy part and the other direction was the main bars and restaurants. The hotel was out of the hustle and bussle but if you want that it is within easy walking distance. The entertainment was on all day and night apart (from sundays - no daytime entertainment) which varied from acrobatic shows to singing dancing etc. Typical hotel evening entertainment and mini disco with in house singers then a show. No bingo though!!! The bar did lack some bar staff at times but it was the start of season so difficult to judge whether this will improve in high season. I would definately recommend staying half board cause you eat so much for breakfast that you look forward to an evening meal with not having much for lunch if at all. We went as a late twenties couple and found a real mix of older people, families, honeymooners and single people. The transfer to the hotel was minutes from the airport which helps after travelling. All in all a great trip away and we are going to go back in May - maybe with extended family and children cause it does cater for all needs.

Location wise it is a 5 minute walk from the main bars/clubs so no worries about being kept up with loud music etc and easy to walk to the relevant venues.

Hotel has plenty of facilities including 2 tennis courts and a gym (gym is free to use) tennis is €10 per hour including use of raquets & balls.

Food is very good plenty of choice and relaxed dining environment, (bit limited if you are vegetarian though).

The beach at the hotel is not so good quite rocky, but 5 mins to the left (as you look at the sea) there is a nice large sandy beach plus there are others as off the main promenade prodominently Playa Grande.

The only downside we found is that the majority of hotel guests were 70 yrs +. Even the rep commented to us 'wow some younge people' (we are in our early 30's)! We were there early March so maybe this has something to do with it.

I would say this hotel is also ideal for young children since there is a kids club, childrens pool and even childrens climbing frame, probably there are more families staying later in the year.
