We have just returned 2 days ago from 2 weeks spent at the Plaza Azul. Initially allocated a n apartment on the shady side ground floor , I requested first floor on the sunny side and transferred within 2 days...The staff and cleaning staff were all helpful and friendly. We were there when it was the Carnival on the first weekend and last weekend there were 3 days of celebrations for St Patrick's Day... All in all a very lively time !!!!! There was the usual annoying habit of people putting towels on the sunbeds all day and not using them for most of the time.. The apartments are very centrally located up a hill which was manageable......I would certainly visit again if we decided to come again.

Room Tip: Ask for apartments A 2 to A 9.......First floor and gets sun all day.

My husband & I are just back from a lovely week in PDC . We booked Plaza Azul because it came so recommended . Its a smashing little complex , very clean & quiet . Location is ideal just 5 minute walk down hill, well its actually more of a slope really to the main strip. Kitchen is well equipped . The down sides for us was the water in the shower on a couple of occasions was barely lukewarm & even though I had emailed to request a sunny apartment , that didnt happen. In fact we got little or no sun on our balcony & there was also a spiral staircase going up to a roof terrace blocking most of our view . We actually preferred to use the beach because it was quite windy around the pool given the time of year I suppose . Having said all that we would definitely stay there again , hopefully next time get a sunny apartment !

Not much I can add to what has already been said really, yes the apartments are in a fantastic location, clean and tidy, plenty of room in the rooms and balconies nice and big. Kitchen well equiped but bathrooms could do with a bit of an update. The "hill" up to the appartments isn't really much of a hill so don't let that put you off booking, it's a nice leisurely stroll to and from the strip with some good supermarkets on the way. We didn't use the pool during our 5 night stay (end of Feb - beginning of March) because it was incredibly windy during that time and the wind did seem to whip around the pool area more so than on the beach, the pool however did look really clean with plenty of sunbeds to accomodate all residents. We hired the safe (in the room) and it was very reasonably priced. We did email to request a sunny room but unfortunately didn't get one, we asked about moving on our second morning because we saw people opposite moving out, but were told that the rooms were already allocated, a bit of a shame really because we probably would have spent more time there had we been able to sit in the sun (not an ounce of it on our balcony A20). The only complaint we had was with regards to the microwave which looked like a tin of oxtail soup had exploded inside it, wouldn't normally complain but it was so cold at night that we needed to heat our chocolate milkshakes for the lamumba's before we went to bed :-) Reception immediately sent one of the cleaning ladies around who tried to explain that it was not dirt but rust....well we think that's what she was trying to tell us. We said it was ok then not to worry we'd make do and off she went only to return 5 mins later with another microwave.....good service!!! The only other gripe we had although we didn't complain about it was the music from the snack bar.....very loud bang on 9am every morning, thankfully our bedroom was away from the noise. All in all we enjoyed our stay, it's a lovely complex, very well run, good free wifi in reception and nice helpful staff. Booked again for the beginning of June and looking forward to returning.

We have stayed in P del Carmen many times but this was a first at Plazza Azul. Rooms are quiet basic & need a bit of attention. They were clean but everything was gernerally a bit tired & worn. Beds were comfy enough but the pillow are wafer thin, though extra blankets were available which we did use at it was chilly on a night. The complex is reasonable, plenty of room around the decent sized pool, & pretty quiet which suited us.There is also a spiral staircase up to a roof terrace you can sunbathe on with great views. Staff were friendly enough & room was cleaned 5 times during our week there. We enquired about a laundry room/facilities & were disappointed to be told that if we wanted an iron it would cost us 5euro deposit (refundable) but an extra 15 euros on top of that. A tad extreme for use of an iron for 10 minutes!!The complex is in a very convenient location, several supermarkets nearby & main strip 5 mins down the hill. We probably wouldnt stay there again as for very similar cost we have stayed in better equipped places, but would rate it as average.

Room Tip: Rooms to the right of the pool get sun all day Westayed in A7, which was one of these. Lower floors...

Staff were helpful with booking tours etc. Great value. Tv, safe in room. Seperate kitchen with the usual facilities ie fridge hob cuttlery etc. Overall a great place to stay- 5 minute walk to the strip downhill. There was a safe in the room you need to rent this for €15 for the week. They also have pool tables and air hockey machines in the lobby for €2 a game. Handy if you have a bit a spare time in the evening before going out. Apartment was cleaned everyday.

I got back on the 17th February from a weeks stay with my partner after we booked a last minute break for valentines. The hotel was nice and we enjoyed our stay. The maids only came twice while we were there and only changed the sheets once. The bath water was luke warm and the rooms itself were quite cold. The hotel is only a 3 minute walk to the beach, and the restaurants. The only English Channels we had on our telly were Disney channel and sky news. The staff were lovely as we booked an excursion through the hotel and it got cancelled on the day due to the weather but they gave us a full refund and recommended something to do that day. They were also very helpful as I suffered a severe allergic reaction on my face while out there and they sorted out transport to the nearest doctors and told them over the phone what had happened as the doctors English wasn't very good, but overall we had a good stay at plaza azul and I would defiantly go again!
