“Great 2 weeks”
Reviewed 8 August 2014 via mobile

We stopped for the first 2 weeks of the kids summer break , 2 adults 2 kids , so.the complex was very busy , i had e-mailed a few weeks ahead requesting the Montana complex , after reading on here about it been more quite, and was pleased when we got the montana - as the main complex had a more busy feel .
The appartments are only 15 mins transfer from the airport , they are basic but you have the essentials , you get a fan as there is no air con and they do get hot
Not my much for teenagers to do , it's more for smaller children , having said that they did make friends around the pool .
Sunbeds - I am a early riser anyway , and you have to place your towels on the ground where you want to reserve your sunbed to go , because they are chained up till 9 o'clock , so mine went down at 7am ish , during the day the life guards will move towels if they are unoccupied after 40 mins or so .
The walk down the hill , at the bottom you will get accosted by the guy trying to get you in the Chinese on the corner , he runs after you , don't go , instead go further down the strip to Enjoy Chinese , good food , also try American Indian , and don castillo.
Also if you go left at the bottom of the hill , and in to last minute travel , they are much cheaper than Thomson for trips , we used them and they were good
Also on the beach , the pedalos cost €20 for a hour , watch the wind though as we nearly ended up in fuerteventura , needed a San Miguel after .
The reception staff were very helpful with any issues you may have .
All in all , a good 2 weeks , we always go somewhere different each year , so nxt year Crete , only problem it's 12 months away :(

This was our first time ever in Lanzarote and after reading reviews on here we had mixed opinions but was presently surprised. Just have one or two down points.
Firstly I want to say how amazing the reps were, especially viki who was full of knowledge and had an answer to every question we had. The kids club reps were always out and about and seemed friendly. And all the reps were on hand at every problem no matter how big or small.
The complex is brilliant, a small hill which is not as steep as everyone makes it out to be then you have everything. The shopping centre is about half an hour walk so if I was you do it in the evening when it is cooler as it is cool at evening which is nice.
We didn't eat at the hotel as there was loads of lovely places to eat out. I strongly recommend the spinnakers bar which is just before the hill, lovely people and lovely food, very nice chocolate cake and good prices. Also recommend American Indian cafe, o'reileys and chiqutoes which are on the main strip near the beach and all the shops down the hill.
The maids cleaned rooms at a good standard most of the time and most of them was polite and spoke to you.
The life guards were excellent. The hardest working life guards I have ever seen, always wiping side so no one slips, (be aware take your flip flops to the pool side from sunbeds, the floor gets very hot). The towels do get taken off you get a warning around 10 and then 40min after the remove your towels, books, bags etc.
Now to the 3 down points I have...
1. Xus tried but the entertainment was no where near what I expect when I go with Thomson. However the bingo she did was a good laugh and lots of fun however she only did it once.
2. Need more entertainment for over 13s like the young ones have kids club an the older ones get bored and find it hard to make friends with other people around the hotel.
3. The beds were really uncomfortable and on the website (before we booked) it said it had a bath in all rooms, when we got there it was just a shower but not even a proper one so water went everywhere.
Overall, me and my family had a very nice stay at the cinco plazas in lanzarote. And like I said you have any questions ask for Viki as she is best tour advisor and has been doing it about 6 year :)

Room Tip: if you want quiet then ask for a room away from reception although the first year we stayed we we we...

Just got back from 2 weeks from the cinzo plazas and had a great holiday. For the price we paid we felt we got great value for money and we made the most of our holiday with its wonderful location

Pros:

5 mins walk to Beach where we spent most days, beautiful views of the mountains, lots of fishes, clean blue flag beach perfect for little ones; tip is to buy an umbrella for 10 euro and save on hiring beds if you don't mind sand ;-)

Lots of restaurants to choose from we recommend Nicos 2 mins away as its so fresh and tasty :-)

Swimming pool near our room in the Montana area was great for our 4 and 6 year olds as had a shallow end. Excellent lifeguards. If we wanted a bed with an umbrella we got there 8.30 and waited
but it does get busy as its peak season. Visited the larger pool once which has loud music and a lot deeper so ideal for older children.

Kids club seemed good, my 2 only went twice as they wanted to be with us and i didn't force them to go but others were raving about the pizza party and the reps were friendly.

If i had an issue with our apartment the hotel dealt with it immediately which was ace. Our door handle broke which was fixed straight away and we had no fan and my son had a temperature and i was given one from another apartment there and then.

Entertaiment was varied and good. Our children did the disco once and enjoyed it. We always ate out around the time it was on so missed it but it was fun.

We ate in the restaurant on our first night and had pizza which was nice.

Security was good and we felt safe

We made friends with lots of families there is a real family vibe and everyone says hello :)

Cons

Sadly the cleanliness of our room wasn't up to scratch. I found hairs and nail clippings from the previous holidaymakers in our room and bathroom. I didn't complain as I found the rest of the apartment ok but towards the end of the holiday there was a horrible stench coming from our fridge. We thought it was our yogurt but after we left it was discovered that an 'old' yogurt pot had somehow been left behind the fridge from a previous occupier. I do think the cleaners need to be more thorough but i understand they are busy and overworked.

Overall i would return to Peurto del carmen most definitely and i would choose another hotel purely down to my personal preference of cleanliness.

We stayed here for two weeks in July. We were in upstairs apartment 3240 overlooking the main pool, which i must say was great for the sun and you could sit on the balcony and still feel part of the action!

The reception staff were friendly and extremely helpful. We ate in the complex a couple of times and could not fault the food and the prices were very reasonable (the half board package being offered was great value for money) but we like to explore and try different places which is why we go self catering. The whole complex was clean and tidy. The apartment, although basic, had everything needed and was very clean. The onsite shop was reasonable too although there is a hyperdino supermarket virtually next door.

The complex is in a great location, just as short walk to bars, shops, restaurants etc. and if you needed to get a taxi they are also very cheap. The complex is up a hill but its not steep and you are just far enough away from any noise from the main strip but close enough to enjoy.

We did a few excursions - volcano (which we booked through last minute travel and not Thomson - it was half of the price), Rancho Texas and my husband and son did the Submarine Safari - these were all great experiences and worth every penny.

This was our first trip to Lanzarote and we will definately return and would also return to Cinco Plazas! Very laid back experience with great weather...what more can you ask for! Brilliant summer holiday! :)

Room Tip: Upstairs apartments are a must. Overlooking the pool is good if you want to sit on your balcony and...

Flights both ways were good and transfers quick only 10 minutes from the airport . We had a 1 bedroom apartment , it had plenty of room and was clean enough , but we did find maid service was a bit hit and miss and on the last 4 days didn't receive any clean towels . The sun bed situation is mad , all sun beds are locked at night then unlocked at 9 . By 8 in the morning other guests have left there towels where they want there sun beds then wait for the man to unlock the beds , life guards are strict where you can have your sun bed , so if your not up by 8 don't expect to sit round the pool ! Not the most relaxing holiday ! What little entertainment there was it was poor to say the least , I guess you get what you pay for !
