“very relaxing and enjoyable holiday”
Reviewed 10 September 2013

After searching for hours for the right hotel/apartments for our well earned holiday I came across this little gem!! After reading the reviews I knew it was definitely the place for us.
I booked direct with the hotel via an Email. This was done easily and I was able to pay by credit card on departure.
We arrived very early morning. Check in was quick and receptionist friendly.
We had room 317 which was a one bedroom superior apartment really close to the pool and bar and ground floor. very happy with the apartment. Clean and everything we needed. Fully modernised. We needed more coat hangers which were brought very quickly along with iron and ironing board at no extra charge. On the second day we had a problem with the toilet which was sorted straight away.
This hotel seems very popular with the Irish and a lot of the staff were Irish too;
The staff in the pool bar and in the restaurant are all very friendly. Always got a smile and clearly enjoy their job. They couldn't do enough for us. We were half board and paid 450 euros for 2 adults and 1 child for ten nights which was well worth the money. Breakfast was freshly made to order and there was a choice of cereals and freshly baked croissants and lovely coffee and much more.
Evening meal for half board was a good selection of starters main course and dessert. I can honestly say that every meal we had was delicious and we had no complaints at all. Again, all freshly made to order and not a buffet style like most hotels. The drink prices were reasonable and wine choice good.
we ate out 1 night and wished we had eaten in the hotel!
The apartments are situated very close to the beach. The resort is very safe and there is a code to get in and out of the gates. Close by near the beach is a centre which has loads of restaurants. We never ate there but we did find a karaoke bar which was good fun.
If you are after a relaxing holiday in a quiet location then this is for you. Was a little quiet for us and the evening entertainment was ok but not great. If you are one to go out then resort centre is not far.
I would go back again but maybe venture out more. As Thomas says below kids entertainment would be good and better entertainment on an evening. Other than that absolutely recommend this lovely place.

We spent 10 days at Costa Sal in August & were really impressed. After booking our superior 2 bedroom apartment with seaview by reviews only, I'm pleased to say it definitely lived up to our expectations.
The apartments were cleaned every other day, there were always clean towels provided & the beds were changed regularly.
The complex its self was lovely consisting of 2 swimming pools, one of which was salt water but that wasn't a problem & it was a very good size. The on-site restaurant provided a varied menu at breakfast, luch 7 evening meals ( not badly priced either.) All the staff were friendly & always keen to help you.I could go on & on...but the best thing to do is go & see for yourselves.
We'll definitely be returning!!

Just returned from another great holiday at Costa Sal. have stayed here on probably 10 occasions now over the last 18 years or so and never get tired of it. we ate at Zest on several occasions and were never disappointed with either the food or the service. A fantastic team always welcoming and always smiling!! Apartments kept lovely and clean and the pools and surrounding areas well maintained only improvement I could see to be made at the pool area is more parasols to be made available . some lovely places to eat just a few minutes walk away or a short and inexpensive taxi ride into Puerto Del Carmen for a more extensive choice.

We have just returned from a two week holiday to Lanzarote. This is our second time to Costa Sal (first time was 12 years ago). When we came in 2001 we had no complaints but didn't recall it being as good as it is now! We travelled with our two children (14 and 17 now).
Our 2 bedroomed bungalow apartment was excellent - spacious, modern furnishings, well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and lovely large shower cubicle. The cleaning was excellent, towels and sheets changed regularly etc. As well as the bungalow being well maintained, so were the grounds. Couldn't have been better really. The pool was lovely and clean, as was the pool area. One minor gripe - despite signs saying don't reserve sunbeds with towels (or towels will be removed), and being given a note with the same message when we arrived, sunbeds were often reserved all day by people - and sometimes not even used at all!! It would be great if the staff actually enforced the "rule".
As mentioned by many others, the staff were lovely- very pleasant and very helpful - all of them. The on-site supermarket had all of the essentials - water, milk, bread, spread, cereals, crisps ham, eggs .etc. The on-site restaurant "Zest" was great - good food at reasonable prices - the Tuesday night barbecue is a must!
Whilst not essential, we would have appreciated a few activities that would have appealed to our teenage girls - for example, last year we went to apartments where every morning there was aqua aerobics in the pool - great fun for all the family :)! We have enjoyed similar things at other places - zumba dancing, pole dancing (for exercise only !!), water polo etc... However the absence of this didn't spoil our holiday at all - it just would have been nice.
In summary - without a doubt one of the best places we have stayed at!

6 of us stayed 14 nights in 2 x 1 bedroomed apartments, which were very clean and comfortable. Air conditioning wasn't working properly in one of the apartments and someone came to fix it immediately. Staff were all very helpful and friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Breakfast served from 8.30 - 11.30 which was great. Some guests wanted to have the same spot around the pool, along with the same type of sun bed, so placed their towels on sun beds early every morning - if nothing it is amusing to watch!! There are notices up saying no towels before 9am and they also tell you when you book in. That said we always got sun beds, so it was not a problem. The food was good stayed in to eat for the curry night and BBQ night. Bus stops both just outside and we found it really easy to use the bus. It is 10 mins to the beach and other restaurants, but these were average. Sun beds on beach were 12 euros for 2. A good stay had by all!

Just returned from another great holiday at Costa Sal. We've stayed there every year for the past 8 and it has always been great and as the years go by it gets better and better.

The staff by far are their greatest asset, every member from the top down are very helpful and friendly.

The grounds are very well maintained and the bungalows are well equipped and spotlessly clean.

Keep up the good work guys. I'll definitely return.
