had a great time at the Nautilus. Apartment was quiet and peaceful. Pool cold when we first arrived but then warmed up, so was fine to spend time in, once you were over that first moment of getting in. Nice location, easy for getting to beach and sea-front.

Staff in reception mostly helpful and they didn't laugh at my attempts to speak Spanish, politely speaking it back to me, even though their English is excellent.

Excellent choice for those seeking a more quiet, reflective break but in need of a 5 minute stroll to restaurants/good pubs (two Irish with live music) and a gorgeous beach. The whole mini resort area is low-level and beautifully kept offering the walker very pretty routes down to and alongside the bay. Lots of cyclists (beware when crossing over to the bayside!) The apartment area is quite far-reaching - we were lucky enough to have a bungalow outside the pool for the majority of our stay although those apartments away from the pool area were equally lovely, with a tiny semi-private patio areas surrounded by palm trees and colourful fauna. Clientelle mainly older couples - excellent choice for those with walking difficulties as all needs here are very well provided for - although a good family choice too, if those in your party are not looking for late nights and partying. Fewer families here meant those families who had booked had the children's pool to themselves.

Bungalows are semi-detached and the insulation isn't great, but as the majority of guests here seem to be looking for early-ish nights and early mornings, that wasn't a problem for us anyway. If you're looking for all-night entertainment, this isn't the place for you. Staff are most keen to ensure your stay is excellent and there's an on-site physiotherapist who is superb (Christina).

Those hiring cars - beware the huge one-way system, recently introduced by the government and the cause of quite a few wrong turnings! Try to book your car before you set off: Avis gave us a fantastic deal from the UK which avoided the cost of transfers. (£130 total for the whole week).

Do visit the tiny but beautiful Costa Quemada on the road to Yaiza - it's so authentic and a great favourite of the Spanish with a stunning rocky/pebble bay which opens out onto a lovely mini sandy bay and coastline which is delightfully commercial-free. Say hello to Sara, the bulldog, who has two very naughty but very gorgeous bull cross alsation pups who were very much an attraction for us while we were there - located at the second of two very fine fish restaurants. It's a sweet place for those who like to sit and watch the sea and read something by Dylan Thomas and was definitely the highlight of our stay. Also, the horse-riding centre which is a right turn off the same roundabout which leads to the left turn to Costa Quemada - a really stunning setting for horse lovers - offering the visitor free access to roam the mini farm complete with peacocks, pigs, sheep, bantams, donkeys, mini ponies and an adorable female camel with her gorgeous mimi-me. There are also camels offering rides up and back down the mountain.

For spa-seekers or late-night entertainment, visit the lovely Hotel Beatriz, just a two minute walk away. The spa is 24 euros per visit - quite steep, but the actual hotel itself is wonderful for an evening drink and a dip in the pool - but busy in the afternoons!!

Have a wonderful holiday!!

The two star rating made us wonder if it was the place for us but I don't like huge hotels & it looked ok.

I know that it isn't but the whole complex looked brand new; Its well laid out & although we were away from the pool area the outlook was attractive & quiet. The accommodation was excellent, we had an air con/heater - £100 deposit for the controller seemed a bit excessive but it worked very well. The cleaning staff were friendly, efficient & helpful. The on site supermarket was well stocked although a bit more expensive than the two in the nearby complex, worth it for the convenience with heavy stuff. We didn't use the restaurant so I can't comment. A short walk through an attractive landscaped area to the front; a wide attractive 'broadwalk' that ran the length of the large bay - bikes for hire & safe for kids, as was the sandy beach with lifeguards on duty.

We were aware of the airport although the noise was not a problem & it was fun watching the aircraft on their approach to land. Not a place to be if you're looking for an ethnic experience - the choice of ok restaurants was pretty well everything except Spanish! The weather was great, but at this time of year crumblies predominated - me included! I think that teens+ might find it a little dull, but so great for kids that we are hoping to borrow our three grandchildren to take over the autumn half term.

Dear Guests,
We are so delighted that you first experience with bungalows Nautilus was so positive and we hope very much that it will not be the only time you stay with us.
If you prefer to have accommodation around the pool, we would advice you that all bungalow situated on the pool are two bedroom ones. As well, if you visit us again, we might recommend you to hire the car and we will advise you about places where you will be able to taste a typical Lanzarote cuisine just contact us directly.
Best wishes

We have returned now several times over past 6 years and am pleased to report on only improvements with each visit. Apart from meticulous maintenance of the complex there is ongoing a major revamp of the facitities. This year the pool had been redone. They plan to upgrade the bar/restaurant/reception area in a few months and install solar panals for water heating the pool... yes perhaps it could have been warmer! But a delightful sandy beach in only few minutes away, is where I have always swam even in January. Husband very pleased with free wifi that now covers entire complex. Staff dealt well and promptly with any requests. I am pleased to see 'derelict' area to south of complex being developed as a park, I feared it might be building site some day.
