The hotel was spotless and well maintained .All the staff were friendly and accommodating.I emailed the hotel before travelling asking for a top floor with a balcony, however on arrival we were allocated a two bedrooms ground floor room with a terrace .
As we had arrived late we stayed there but requested a move to what I originally asked for .We were moved the following day to a room which suited us with a balcony and sea view !
The food was good for both breakfast and evening meal with plenty of choice.
It was sometimes not possible to get a Sun bed around the pool unless it was morning or late afternoon. The only gripe I would say was the time and choice of food available from the pool bar .Food was not served until 1 o'clock and poor variety on offer. This is a good hotel , however the location isn't great with it being on the top of a steep hill and all amenities available in Puerto De Carman down the hill .
Puerto Del Carman is a nice place with a strong Irish Community .However the excursions are extortionately priced compared to other places we have visited .

Room tip: Top floor facing pool also have a sea view

The hotel is clean, apartments modern and spacious, good enough service, very 'relaxing'

however, if you are bringing a young family here it's worth bearing in mind it is lacking in amenities and things to do; entertainment is a bit wishy washy , there is very few activities to do, waiting staff are friendly-ish (most of the time they seem aloof i.e. unconcerned about there being no forks at breakfast, don't clear tables fast enough etc.), the maids however are all lovely and very fast & make a good job!

Overall it was an alright stay for an alright price... But it does not compare to other 4* hotels i have been to in the past.

Our first visit to the Izaro and we loved it. Having been to Lanzarote for the past ten years or so, we were hesitant to stay in PDC but we needn't have worried, the old town location and distance to harbour was perfect. The hotel is immaculate and staff courteous and hard working. Our children (8 and 5) loved the breakfast buffet and the pools, being able to play between the two pools as it was very safe to do so. Yes people hogging the sun loungers is irritating but we soon gave up playing the game - we had a ground floor pool view room and sat on our veranda bit instead. Evening entertainment was a little hit and miss but we only came back to the hotel later anyway, the bar area is beautiful and special mention must be given to the bar manager, who was so smiley and friendly.
We will definitely be back to the Izaro and have already highly recommended to other families. The breakfast buffet and morning walks to the harbour are already very missed. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

Room tip: Ground floor pool view rooms are much easier if you don't want to get up early to reserve sun loungers.

Just back from our second visit to the Izaro...... Great place for a relaxing family holiday ...... Place is spotless .... The cleaners never stop!!!..... Around the pool it's the same .... Always somebody around cleaning up and I saw the water in the pool being checked regularly ...... Food is very good .... Breakfast is amazing .... Great choice ... Dinner is not quite as good but still a very good menu ....... My little girl loved Lorena and Sara who are in charge if the animation .....they really make a great effort........ Night time entertainment is a bit hit and miss...... But overall I would highly recommend the Izaro for friendliness and value for money ...... We hope to return again in the not too distant future..... Keep up the high standards!!!!

We spent a week in Izaro club this August.
Good points:
In a lovely quiet location but only a short walk to Biosfera / Avienda de la Playas.
Reception extremely helpful and professional.
Lovely pool even if number of sun loungers can be tight.
Great food at reasonable prices from pool bar..and happy hour 4.30 to 5.30pm
Lorena works hard at entertainment and the activities were fun..aqua dance, water polo, water basketball etc.
The air conditioning was very good.
Not so good points:
We were left a variety of bath towel sizes - sometimes small, other times large.
Twice housekeeping left no replacement towels so we had to go to reception for them.
The apartment was adequate..not very spacious and there can be a lot of steps depending on where your apartment is.

Overall a lovely holiday, we would return although it isn't quite 4 star.
