Just back from our first visit to Atlantis Las Lomas. First impressions were that the male receptionist was unfriendly and not very helpful but the other receptionists that we encountered were very nice. When we got to the apartment I was a little disappointed it was very dated and needs refurbishment. It needs a good clean e.g. floors just cleaned in the middle and corners forgotten. It was overun with ants but we bought a spray and that was sorted I do understand that I was in a hot country and that there will be creepy crawlies. The bar/restaurant area needs updating its very off putting but we said we would give it a try and the food was lovely and very cheap it looks like a shack. The location is very good in the middle of the new town and old town. There are a lot of steps so not suitable for older people. If you don't want to listen to loud music at night as to book apartment up at the back as down around reception gets loud at night. We did have a great time in Puerto del carmen but I don't think I will stay here again you definately get what you pay for!!!

Room Tip: Apartments up at the top swimming pool are quieter.

This was me and my girlfriends first time in Lanzarote. We normally go away to site seeing places throughout the world but wanted a place to stay which was cheap and had a beach, sun, booze and nightlife. .. so we chose Atlantis Las Lomas in Lanzarote.

The Location
Location is great. You walk out of apartment to the left then to the right and you see a big hill (that lots of people have commented on here) and at the bottom of the hill is the beach and strip with bars down it etc. Seriously is a great location. We did go to the old town but got a 4 euro cab as its about a 15 min walk there. Supermarket just down the road.

The Facilities
Its pool is good - abit ugly with that so called fountain in the middle, but still a good pool. The complex also has 2 bars .. one which is a Hut (which a crazy Italian barman) and one that is right next to reception. The bar by reception serves food and featured many special offers on beers (like 2 heineken bottles for 3.50 euros). We didnt eat here however great selection - but breakfast looked dissapointing as was a buffet style and it looked like it had been there a while.

The Staff
Gernerally they are friendly, however we did have an issue at one point. We encounterd a problem with the flusher on the toilet in the apartment..it simply did not work. We complained about it and half hour later a maintenance guy came and "fixed" it. The next day it broke again (and just to make you aware it was not due to me flushing toilet paper down it etc as i didnt do this) and complained again. This time i waited an hour and still no sign of a maintenance guy.. i phoned reception and his response was "He is busy, he has higher priorites on his list of things to do" i then said around how long you think he will be and his answer was "i dont know". . .We did go out and after 5 hours came back and it was done.. however the response could have been a little more professional i think. . i mean seriously one maintenance guy for all those apartments?

The Room
Dated i.e wood coming off windows etc, but thats about it.. everything else was great. Large seating areas, balcony and kitchen so all good. You couldnt watch TV though unless you paid for it.

Value for money
We paid £84 for 2 people for 4 nights here self catering in June. I think although very basic, it did what we were looking for so would defernately recommend this. We did find Lanzarote abit boring after a while as not any different from Spain etc as its a standard beach and sea place, so glad we spent £84 instead of £100s on a 4-5 star hotel etc. If i ever came to Lanzarote again I would stay here.

This is my second visit to the Atlantis Las Lomas and I'm already planning my 3rd! The apartment was basic, bright, roomy and well equiped. The complex itself is well situated for both the old town and the strip. Not even 5 mins from the beach too. We went to the Texas Ranch the taxi was 3 or 4 euros but there was also a free bus. This was a nice day out, there is also a dinner evening which I would have liked to have gone to. The volcano tour is also very interesting. There are a lot of nice restaurants, a huge variety, but for fish go to the harbour in the old town. Another bonus is the taxi to / from the airport is only 15 euros each way (not with tip) and takes 10/15 mins. Although you are close to the airport there is not any aircraft noise you'd notice. There is a real mix of singles / families / groups at the complex. I just love the overall atmosphere. The staff are very friendly .... you know what, I just can't say enough good things about this complex. I read some of the reviews complaining about cockroaches, there was one in my apartment but if you go on holiday to a hot climate you are going to see the native wildlife (good and bad). The room was clean so my sighting was not a real reflection on the condition of the hotel. I can't wait to go back!!!

Excellent complex and great value for money.i have visited twice and will go again. Can be a little noisy if you are near the main pool but I have been towards the back of the complex on each visit. The various parts of the complex each have their own small pool and sun beds. The only complaint I have is not with the hotel but with a large extended family that would claim sun beds early in the morning but not use the till the afternoon when "grandad" would lay there breaking wind loudly and frequently without batting an eyelid. I can't blame the resort for that.

These apartments definitely not suitable for mature couples. The complex is over run by young children and babies. The apartments "badly in need of refurbishment" and can be very noisey especially around the pool area during the day - - - - -the music from the pool bar is of deafening level. At night the noise level from the main bar can also be very loud. On the plus side the apartments are very well equipped and have every accessory required for your stay. All the staff are very helpful especially the room maids and reception staff. The rooms are cleaned 5 days a week and done to very high standard. It seemed that the whole of Cork City moved in during our stay - - -very friendly - - but VERY noisey.

Room Tip: Ask for aroom away from the main pool area

We booked direct via a call to the apartments and saved a good bit and got the 1 bedroom apartment that we wanted, 490, looking over the pool.
The pool side bar food was good and very reasonable.
The apartment was clean and carried out on a regular basis. Although the decor was slightly tired but for the level of cost it was well well worth it.
The apartments are 2 minutes from the beach and when we returned, climbing "cardiac hill" (good excercise), at mid afternoon there was plenty of sun beds available as there are 2 sets of pools (kids and main) to choose from.
We have to say the staff were brilliant from the pool side barman, kiddies entertainer, cleaning staff, receptionists (apart from 1) and maintenance men. We had a problem with the safe which was rectified within 15 minutes with a smile.
Definately going back in August for another week.

The only downside, for her who has to be obeyed, is that we had a different cockroach 3 nights in a row, 2 in the first night. We got spray from the staff immediately but I established that they were coming in from behind the safe and therefore stuffed paper round the safe and they never visited again.

Room Tip: Room 490 and along gives you a good view, receives the sun on the balcony, close to the 1st set of p...
