Just back from a 9 night stay in the Floresta hotel its a brilliant place to stay for anyone. The apartment complex it self was very nice, lovely greenery fantastic pool its a salt water pool so very very cold when you first get in but then its lovely. They had pool games every day for the kids and adults. The apartments were lovely and clean and spacious we were in block G. The one thing i will say is the bed was not very comfortable, but then that could be just us we found them to be very hard to sleep on. We had no problem getting sun loungers every day including an umbrella no matter what time of the morning, some times we did not venture out until after 11am!! We were not AL but HB which was fine we had breakfast and Lunch the food was only OK, a lot of the cold food looked very unappealing but there was always plenty of other choices including lots of fruit, soup bread etc.... There was a spar shop right outside the hotel which was brilliant and really cheap we were able to buy our drinks there as we were not AL so this worked out well for us. The staff on the reception desk were extremely nice and helpful we didn't encounter the waiting staff too often as were were not AL but the ones we did were very nice. Location wise its really good, there are bus stops and taxi ranks right outside the hotel if want to head down to the strip or old town Taxis' are very cheap probably about €5.50 to get to the old town and the bus was €2.80 for 2 people. Its about a 30 min walk to the strip (new town). There was plenty of bars and restaurants near the Floresta if you wanted to stay local about a 5 min walk and some bars just right outside the hotel. We would go back and stay in the Floresta again if we were going back to lanzarote.

We booked our holiday one year in advance so were very excited to be going by the time it came and probably had high expectations. Sadly they were not met for a few reasons. Firstly on arrival the reception area was packed with people sat trying to get wifi on their phones, not an issue but we could tell it was going to be a busy hotel which usually leads to stress. The woman on reception was great, very very helpful and polite. We spent the first night in the room as it was late, but the bar was rammed too. The main issues we started to find were long queues as soon as the bar opened, which lasted virtually all day, but staff did get through the queues quick, usually by being ignorant , rude and serving half full plastic cups of drinks and throwing them at you. If he still works there, there is a guy called OSCAR works on the bar, and my god what a miserable sod he is, I swear hes had botox his face never moves, didnt smile ONCE, and I ended up arguing with him after he poured me HALF a plastic cup of beer after having a pop at me for having a drip of water on my head. Not what you want on a holiday you have busted your balls to go on. There were other miserable staff, but also some decent ones. The hotel itself is very clean, apart from the pool area which ended up with loads of cups flying around which were not regularly picked up and left by kids and families that dont give a toss. The food was standard AI food, some days were pretty dire, some ok, but plenty of nice places around to eat out. They only set 3 places on tables too so you end up searching for chairs and cutlery. Bonkers. Dont bother with Paddys Paradise on the front its a rip off, beer and pop are extortionate. Also, on arrival you are told you can get 1 bottle of water a day at the bar after 6pm if you are AI, this is true but if there are 4 of you, you get 2, and they dont tell you this. I had an almighty row with one of the bar staff one night when they started asking for roon numbers when you went for water. The tool on the bar said we had already had our water so couldnt have any. We had only just walked into the bar one hour before. All hell broke loose and I kicked off, ended up with 3 bottles. Wouldnt have cared really, its just water, but he could see my 5 month pregnant wife stood at the side of me, and after an argument witg reception he was still trying to blag it. I dont go on holiday to argue with bar staff over water. So all in all a big let down. Lanzarote itself has become a let down though, seems to have been invaded by a certain group of people, the ones who leave all their rubbish for others to pick up and let their kids run riot. Cant blame the hotel for this but the outcome is that, we will never step foot on the island again, and most certainly wont go to Floresta again. I cant reccomend it, im sorry, go somewhere else if you dont want your holiday ruined. Couldnt find one bar nearby where yoi can just go the bar and buy a drink either, you have to go through the cack of sitting down, waiting, drinking, wait for bill, pay tip, blah blah....rubbish. It was red hot though most days. Dont believe the people that say it doesnt pay to blag sunbeda before 6am. The germans are at it as early as midnight.....yes MIDNIGHT.

Hello Dougie H:
We are very sorry to hear that you did not like our hotel and it seems that you did not like Lanzarote as an island either.
Its a pitty because this island has so many curious things to offer that many people fall in love with it. But since the tastes can't be all the same there are always people that prefer other types of holidays.
Usually we get very good feedback about all our services so we are very sorry that you weren't satisfied. We still hope you could enjoy some of your time here.

Just came back from an all inc 11 nights stay at floresta . We stayed in room 1303 which was a lovely 2 bedroom apartment located by the fresh water swimming pool which was a lovely little area. We weren't keen on the saltwater pools which are beside the bar where you get all your snacks from like burgers hotdogs chips and toasties etc. The apartment was very clean and spacious. We complained our fridge had an awful smell coming from it and they replaced it with a new one within an hour! On my daughters birthday they left us a bottle of wine which was lovely of them to do. Room was cleaned every day except Mon and wed. All staff are lovely never had a problem with any of them. The man on reception (gutted I never got his name) was so nice and helpful. Always a smile on his face. My son ended up going into town with a couple of the bar staff and went clubbing. The food was always nice and plenty to choose from. My favourite was evening meal. Not very keen on breakfast. I do like a full English breakfast not chips haha. But was a lot to choose from. Just me being fussy. Kids mini disco was ok but they do the same routine every night and kids were bored of it by the 3rd time. Need to do a different routine and mix songs up a bit. Adult entertainment was ok could be a bit better. We ended up going out most nights and wasting a lot of money when we had it all free there. The hotel is in a lovely area, across the Rd from the beach. 10 mins from airport. Plenty of shops around and a mc Donalds. We had a day out at the volcanoes that was amazing. Then had a ride on the camels. Also the aqua water park was ok too. All in all it was a fab holiday. Will definitely be returning to the floresta again in the future. Thank you to all the staff for a good holiday. See you all again soon xx

Just returned from an 11 night stay at hotel floresta. All i can say is that we had the best holiday! Check in was quick, room was spacious and more than enough room for 3 people. All the food was lovely. Plenty of choice, hot and cold. The hotel was spotless and all the staff work really hard to make your stay enjoyable. No need to reserve beds unless your like myself, a paranoid mother that wants a brolley for shade for my son! So i went out early to get one! We will return for another visit to this hotel!

We stayed in the Floresta for the first time from 13th to 20th August with our 8 year old twin girls. We had a 2 bedroom apartment over looking the main pool. The hotel is a 3 star and for what we paid I thought we got great value. The apartment was spacious, comfortable and clean with a fridge, microwave and 2 rings. It was a nice touch to get a bottle of wine in the room for booking direct with the hotel. The main pool has salt water in it which my twins didn't really like so we stayed around the other pool through a small walkway which wasn't salt water. We got sun loungers here really at any time. So on to the food- i read before we went that the food wasnt great and there was never chicken and always veal. But the food was great for a 3 star hotel. Breakfast included cereals, fruit, yogurt, croissants, freshly made pancakes. Lunch I enjoyed the choice of salads and made cheese and ham baps with the nice fresh rolls. There was also hot food but i dont really eat hot food at home for lunch so was happy with salads and fruit. At dinner we had chicken wings, beef, lamb on some evenings. There was veal and fresh fish also. One day there were even mussels and fresh prawns. The themed nights were great and the nachos and chili con carne was lovely, pizza, carbonara and lasagne were available on the Italian night and lots of lovely choice on the Chinese night. My kids kind of lived on chicken nuggets and chips but they seemed to turn fussy on holiday and not very hungry with the heat.
There is a free bus around the corner that takes you to Rancho Texas which is a small zoo but has 2 slides and nice swimming pools. The food was nice and plentiful too there. Puerto Del Carmen is about 5 mins on the bus or taxi but it is cheaper to get a taxi if there are 4 of you than the bus. If you are planning to go the water obstacle course on the beach it is 5 Euros for 1 hour but be warned its out in the deep end which is cold water and very physical. They let all ages on and my 8 year olds only went on it for 20 minutes as there were lots of teenagers and adults jumping around it. I would definitely recommend Hotel Floresta but please bear in mind it is 3 star. We went into the 4 star Sol hotel and Jameos Playa and while they looked more luxurious it was an extra £1000 for us to stay for a week which I think really isn't worth it. We are going to price Floresta for next year as it is one of few hotels that offer 2 bedroom apartments but all inclusive.
