Hi. Myself and my wife stayed at these apartments from 20th to 27th Feb and we found them to be basic but spotless. In the apartments there were 2 single beds, a flat screen, in the kitchen there was everything you would need if you were going self catering. The distance to PDC which is the main resort is abuot a 45 minute, but it is a nice walk along the front.Taxis are cheap and plenty of them, the food was OK you would not starve, all in all not a bad holiday, one tip,if you book these apartments DO NOT book the transfers through the tour company get a cab from the airport it is a lot cheaper, another tip if you want to book any trips book them along the front of PDC last minute are pretty good. Happy Hols.

First visit to Lanzarote and had a great holiday at Morromar.

Great welcome from reception - they knew we were arriving after 10 pm so they had arranged for a meal to be kept for us ( mixed salads, meats, cheeses, bread etc ). Nice room with great view of sea and clear view of runway too. Children really enjoyed watching planes landing and taking off. Airport noise never a problem to us.

Room was a little dated but spotless. Towels and linen regularly changed.

Enjoyed meals - varied and always lots to choose from. Lunch was definitely our favourite with fresh paella and lots of salads to choose from.

Drinks were great could pay extra for branded drinks I.e mangers which was very reasonably priced and always half price before 11 . My children loved the slush machines and self service drinks and snacks.

Didn't use kids club much but the kids enjoyed some of the organised activities around pool.

We used smaller pool which was quieter which is what we wanted . Very busy and no beds after around 9,30 but most gone when we went to breakfast at around 9, Not a problem to us as we are early risers. Many people put down towels however one morning saw manager move towels that had been left unattended for some time and she did try and stop gusts doing this.

Entertainment team worked very hard during our stay - everyone seemed to love them .

Close to beach and decent shopping centre near by.

Staff all polite and worked hard to keep hotel running smoothly from domestics to managers. Well done to you all you seem to take great pride in your complex and hope that you get to make the improvements that you want/need to keep your good ratings.

We had a great holiday - Thank You Morromar we will see you again in the summer.

Complex as a whole is nice. Our room particularly the bathroom was tired and needed updating. Hot water ran out after one shallow bath, we were boiling the kettle to top it up.
Food, breakfast is the best meal, good selection, but the fruit juices are cordials not juice, which is a bit odd. The other meals were a bit hit and miss but we didn't go hungry. Drinks from the bar were good, staff all very nice. Pools, freezing, the kids didn't mind but I stayed out. Our boy went to the kids mini disco a couple of times, I agree with the other reviews 8pm is to late a start time. 10 mins from the airport, don't pay for bus transfers, take a taxi, it's around 10 euros. Overall for a pretty cheap week of winter sun I'd recommend it. If you want 5* go somewhere else and pay for it.

Dear Guests,

Thank you for taking your time to publish your impressions about THe Morromar.
We are glad to read you enjoyed your stay.
Since the beginning of the year we are doing a complete maintanence in our apartments (painting, refurbishing batrooms, etc.)
About the boiler the capacity is 50 liter so once they are finished it must get filled again with hot water. In Lanzarote we do not usually take baths as water is a preciate gift!
We would be very grateful to welcome you back in a near future.
Wishing you the best,
Kind Regards.

We travelled with Thomson/Skytours. These apartments are sold as being in Puerto del Carmen, whereas they are actually in the suburb of Matagorda (a good 45minutes steady walk from the main resort) whereas the runway of Arrecife Airport is only a 20minute walk away. The beach is about a 10min walk.

We checked in easily, reception staff were polite and spoke good English. Extra costs such as WiFi in your room €18 per week (free WiFi in reception area) Security box key €12 per week.

Our upstair apartment was near reception, and consisted of a small kitchen area with breakfast bar separating it from the main living area with sofa and chair. French doors leading to a good sized balcony/sun terrace (with table and chairs) which in our case had both a sea view and pool view (as well as great views of the aircraft on final approach). Separate bedroom with twin beds and two good sized wardrobes, one of which contained the safe and the other an iron. We had a large flat screen TV, although generally the only English language channels were Sky News and BBC World News.
The beds were not very comfortable, and due to the time of year it was quite cold at night. Extra blankets and a limited number of electric heaters were available via reception. The room was clean. The decor/fixtures a little tired. The room also had a cleaning cupboard with a brush, mop, ironing board and a can of cockroach spray!

We were staying on an all inclusive basis:
Breakfast buffet was served between 07.30-09.30 and consisted of a good selection of cereal, fruit, cold meats, bacon, eggs, beans, sausage etc. Plenty of breads, croissants and the likes. Orange, apple or pineapple juice, coffee and teas..... Everything you could want.....plus some strange extras, mixed veg often appeared along with squid rings!!!
Lunch buffet was served 1300-1500 and consisted a mix of hot and cold foods. Soup/Salad a choice of "wrinkled" potatoes/chips/pasta or rice with various meat and fish. Cakes/fruit/ice cream for desert. Drinks available at lunch were Juices, beer, wine (red, white or rosé) fizzy soft drinks.
Dinner buffet served 18.30-21.30 for choices see lunch menu! Occasionally the meat choices were not to our taste i.e rabbit or the mysteriously labeled "typical island meats" (sorry but if you can't be more specific than that.....)
At more or less all other times drinks and snacks were available at either the main bar or pool bar.

Maid service was available every day except Wednesday and Saturday.

There are two pools (unsupervised) with ample loungers. Both were exceptionally cold. Although it was rumoured that the upper pool was heated. There were various organised activities during the day, the winners of which were awarded certificates during the evening entertainment.

Evening entertainment was patchy, mainly kids songs/dancing followed by audience participation quizzes, parrot show etc. We were treated to a couple of acts worth mentioning: a very good Male and female mime/balance/juggling type act and the 'Crazysland' show which was a mix of magic and mime, both shows very entertaining.

A convenient taxi rank and bus pick up area (day trips) is situated by the lower entrance, with public transport bus stops being a short walk away.

We found all the staff to be friendly, polite and helpful.

Checkout was painless, and although we had to be out of our room by noon (airport transfer just after 16.00) there was a luggage room in reception and we were allowed to use the all inclusive facilities until departure.

One last word.... CATS. Although the Canaries gets their name from the Latin word for dog, the complex has more than it's fair share of friendly felines.

Just returned from a two week AI stay at this hotel. (from Feb 9th) On arrival found that we had been allocated rooms on the ground floor when we had been hoping for one on a higher floor. In spite of reception being fairly busy we were treated with great courtesy by Juan the receptionist and he managed to find us suitable rooms. This set the scene for the whole holiday, I have never before encountered such pleasant, polite and accommodating staff anywhere I have ever stayed. Nothing was too much trouble, there were no huffs, puffs or 'faces' from any of them whatever they were asked or may have been feeling, and they worked long hours. We stayed in room 402 which had a lovely sea view and had the sun from about 10am until about 4pm.We thought that the variety of food at all mealtimes was very good with something there for everyone.
It was quite cold particularly in the evenings while we were there, when we brought this to the attention of the manager at one of her meetings she then provided heaters free of charge to those who wanted them, and when we asked for extra blankets we were given them immediately.
Some mattresses on the sun loungers would be a good improvement as they are quite hard, and a few more settees and comfortable chairs in the bar area would be nice. These are recommendations not complaints, in all honesty the hotel exceeded our expectations and is a very good three star, great value for money.
.

Room Tip: room 402 has a lovely sea view, room 422 doesn't have such a good view but has the sun all day.
