“Pleasant hotel”
Reviewed 2 July 2014 via mobile

When we first arrived here we were greeted by a very helpful blonde lady on reception who went through every detail and made us feel very welcome. Unfortunately we never seen her again and had to deal with a brunette woman who wasn't very helpful or friendly at all.

The rooms are very big, spacious and exceptionally clean! They are cleaned everyday with bedding being changed every 2 and towels changed whenever you think is necessary. The cleaners are so friendly! The only negative I would say would be about the air con. You can't really feel it at all as it is so slow and not very powerful. If it was hotter when we were there this would have been a problem.

Now for the food.. Out of the three, breakfast, lunch, dinner I would say breakfast is the best! So many options of either cooked breakfast, omelettes, pancakes, cereal, yoghurt.. Yes they do serve veg but the way people were going on it's as if you were forced to eat it.
Lunch and dinner are pretty much the same. Being a vegetarian there weren't many options for me but I always found something to eat. The salad bar is fab! I would have liked there to be clearer signs if something was vegetarian as it can be quite confusing.
The waiters are very quick to get you a drink once you have say down which is good.
Also if you read the welcome pack it does state that you can have a packed lunch if you let then know the day before you want it but I would definitely recommend against getting one. It isn't worth it at all.

The pool is very cold but that's nothing strange, once you're in it's fine! We could always find a sun lounger but could see when it gets busier that people may struggle. It does say no reserving but who ever listens to that?

The entertainment was pretty terrible. But to be fair to the poor guy everyone was far more interested in the football that was on the TV every night.

Being a young couple I wouldn't say the hotel is in a great location but that's down to preference. If you want somewhere that's quiet and close to the beach then this hotel is perfect for you.

Just returned from 12 days here, our room was exceptional in size and comfort. The beds were very comfortable, linen changed 3 times a week, and towels changed when required.
We have mobility problems, and there was no problem in taking our own scooters - in fact the hotel was very well adapted for disabled guests - we requested an adapted or low floor room and we got exactly what we requested.
The rooms and hotel was spotless, we certainly didnt have ants.
Food was varied and there was something to suit every taste.
Staff very helpful especially Turid and Julia, we are hoping to come back soon for a much longer stay.
Only negatives they need to move tv, as the football interfered with the shows, and the pool was very cold, and too deep in the shallow end for me, but i made up for it in the jacuzzi.
Thank you one and all.

After reading some of the reviews on here I didn't expect the hotel to be the best, but I was pleasantly surprised! Staff were all friendly and very helpful. Rooms were a great size, modern and spotlessly clean. We are a couple with a 4 year old and the room was plenty big enough (and ample storage) for us. We had a "garden view room" but could still see down to the sea.

Pool area was great for our 4 year old okay it was a little chilly when you first got in but what do you expect, they are not going to heat it in June! Once you got in to was fine. Got beach towels from reception for a 10 euros deposit each.

My daughter went to the Mini Club for a couple of afternoons which she loved and Barbara was fantastic with the kids. Being out of the school holidays it was nice and quiet with only 5 children there at the most.

I was really happy with the food for the price we paid. All the food was lovely and fresh with something for everyone. I loved the salads and the theme nights were nice for a bit of variety. Okay so there were sometimes vegetables at breakfast but no one is forcing you to eat it! I think you have to bear in mind that they are catering for people from a variety of cultures. There was plenty of english breakfast items too.

Alcohol and soft drinks always available from whichever bar was open at the time. I never had a problem with having to wait long for a drink. Okay so the wine isn't what you would drink at home but it was drinkable. Gin and tonics were great :)

I though the evening entertainment was fantastic. Pretty much what you want - live music, spanish dancing, magic show and variety acts. A good mix for adults and kids alike. My daughter LOVED the Mini Disco with Barbara and it was a real highlight of the day watching the kids dance.

The location of the hotel is ideal for families - at the quieter end of Puerto Del Carmen but with all of the life within a short stroll. Beach is just the other side of the road. Also very close to the Rancho Texas which was a really great day out.

All in all a lovely place for a relaxing holiday, I would return.

Hotel room- very clean apart from ants in the bathroom. Had to pay for safe. Got twin beds instead of double bed. Tv is tiny. No view.
Food and bar- food is average. Not much selection. They are not shy on alcohol here which is good and bar is open from 12-12.
Pool- very nice. Jacuzzi also pretty good. Pool is cold but you get use to it.
Reception - don't expect any help from these.

Security- get a safe here. Low security. Cleaner left our balcony door unlocked and we were on ground floor.

Overall, this hotel is adequate, quite nice. The location is very good. There was a lot of older people staying in the hotel with no entertainment. Food ok, not great but bar makes up for it. Don't spend too much on this place as it is really a high 3 star.

Been in much better 4* than this and would rate this as a 3*. It looks nice on the surface, but it's flawed underneath. ROOM: kept spotlessly clean, good walk-in shower, tea & coffee, free bottled water and a fridge. But hard beds, thin towels, no telly signal, small wardrobe. FOOD: at all meals thought the quality was poor, presentation unappealing, not hot. Veg for breakfast!!! Pork nearly every night and chips with everything. Salads okay, but not a lot to go with them like cold meats. Deserts were awful, lots of cheap cake with artificial cream, fruit and ice cream. BARS: cheap non brand spirits, flat coke etc from a machine. Pool bar ok in day, shuts at 6. All drinks thereafter from bar at top end of 'entertainment room', no other bar in the evening, queues when busy. Sit outside under cover when dinner over or just a few tables near pool, seats not cleaned and sticky from use in the day. Tables not cleared or cleaned much. Ashtrays if you smoke are like gold dust! Just no nice seating in or out to relax. Entertainment room busy till about 10pm, then nothing, no music, no atmosphere inside or out. Looked and felt like an airport/bus station. POOL: usual mentality of reserved beds, cold pool, under 16's not allowed in jacuzzi - yeah right!! Sunbeds sag in the middle and umbrellas are thin - be warned! STAFF: room maids clearly work their socks off, ours was very thorough every day. Restaurant staff are nice enough, but are quick to whip away anything off the table soon as the plate/ cup is empty, gets annoying. Chefs at the grill aghast should you want 2 pieces of meat or 2 omelets! Bar staff okay, not many of them though. Reception are nice, but on checking in, why not give out the free plug-in mozzie repellant, only found out about them from another guest. Never told us we could have picnic lunches either. ENTERTAINMENT: not our bag anyway usually, but this was ropey most nights and ends around 10pm. Usual games stuff in the day.

Well yes this review is quite negative I suppose, but not many positives to be honest. Sorry, but if you want value and variety in The Canaries you can't beat Iberostar hotels. Anyway, self catering for us in future.

Room Tip: Top floors probably quieter and some have good views, we had sea and mountains.

We went to the Lanzarote Village as a hen party with ages ranging from 26 to 76. As you can imagine our 'shopping' list was quite a tall order! We wanted something that was peaceful but had entertainment and within a short walk of nightlife. Somewhere that could cater for meat and fish eaters but would also keep vegetarians happy too.

Well we found we very nearly had it all at Lanzarote Village. The rooms were lovely - we had 5 twins and they were very spacious with a sofa as well as the beds in each. The rooms were clean and light. Views from three of the rooms were beautiful as they looked out over the sea - mine unfortunately was of a bush but it didn't matter to me as I spent very little time in there.

We found there to be plenty of sun beds by the pool - although a little frustrated by our fellow holiday makers who would put towels out in the morning and not return until 3pm! I could see there might be a sunbed shortage during high season (we went at the end of April).

The pool was lovely and there are some nice facilities in the hotel - sauna, gym and tennis court (although some half decent racquets wouldn't go amiss!)

We used the open space in the gym to run a couple of our Zumba sessions.

There are a nice young couple running the organised activities - thoroughly recommend their samba beginners class.

The food was very good - I enjoyed their themed nights but they do need more vegetarian dishes as my sister did struggle some nights. (a little tip - try the salted peanuts from the bar on the ice cream - amazing :)) The dining and bar staff are lovely. Some of our group did find some of the reception staff to be a bit frosty although personally I didn't have a problem.

Don't book the excursions in the hotel - its cheaper if you go up the road into Puerto Del Carmen.

Finally - location. Just perfect. On the outskirts of the Puerto Del Carmen, my phone kept showing as Player de los Pocillos. A 10 minute walk into Puerto but lovely and peaceful where we were. Definitely thinking of going back and taking my family with me.

Room Tip: Get a sea view room.
